I give up on even attempting to sleep somewhere close to 5am and go downstairs. I hear a noise in the kitchen and carefully peep around the corner. Tony is getting a drink of water. I look at him and want to hug him so badly but I dare not go near him just yet. He looks up and sees me.
"Hey" he whispers, walking towards me. "Are you ok?"
I nod slightly and smile shyly at him
"Couldn't sleep" I mumble.
"Me neither" he tells me.
"Did you stay here again?" I ask, wondering why he was here at this hour. He nods.
"I live about half an hours drive away and it was pretty late so Danielle offered the spare room again."
I'm so glad she did. At least now I'm already near him.
"Do you want to go and get some breakfast?" he offers. I look up and nod.
"I'll just get changed" I say.
I go back upstairs and pull on a pair of jeans and a fluffy jumper. It's pretty cold at this hour. I walk back to where Tony is waiting for me and follow him out to the car.
He says there is a good cafe about 10 minutes away that opens at 5 for shift workers. Their omelets are to die for he informs me. I smile again, hoping to see his beautiful smile again. I do.
We order our food along with a coffee for him and a cup of tea for myself. We eat in comfortable silence. If only he knew what I did. He pays and we head back to the car. There is a gas station on the way back and he needs to fill his car up. I go inside to wait, looking at the different things they sell. He walks in and a man comes in seconds later, wearing something over his face.
"Give me all your money" he screams at the man who works here. I scream in terror and as he lifts his arm, a loud bang erupts from the shiny thing in his hand. I see Tony crumple to the ground.
