i can feel the burning sun beating down on my already sunburnt skin. it feels like i'm boiling alive. the direct sunlight off the glare of the calm ocean is so powerful. i know i won't last much longer without food or water. i don't even know how long i've been floating. couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 days. the two pieces of plywood that was holding me up were beginning to start to break away and soon there would be nothing between me and the giant and terrifying ocean.i rubbed my dry and chapped lips together. it hurt to open my mouth it was so dry. i could barely move it took so much energy even just to roll over. i close my eyes and i'm ready to acepcct my inevitable fate. i'm going to die alone. i begin to think about my mom. what she smelt like how she looked. how her pretty red hair would gleam i the suns light. now i will never see her again. and i want nothing more right now other than to be held by her and told everything is going to be okay. right as i was going to close my eyes for good one last time. a loud crash woke me from impending doom. i muster what little strength i have left and get up to see what happened. i see sand and trees and rocks. i crawl off the wood that had been my home for so long. and crawl to the shade of a big palm tree. to finally be out of blazing sun was the best feeling at that moment.
