Edit: I just published a brand new story. Check it out on my profile, now.

Clementine

By now, it's mid July for the group. That meant they had just over a month left to carry on their Europe adventures before returning to Virginia. And that meant Clementine would be leaving for California soon after, to study at college.

Just across from the famous United Kingdom, there is a small country called the Netherlands. They all mutually decided it was worth a visit to the underrated city of Amsterdam, the capital of the country. It's a fairly small city but has lots of things to do, ranging from the infamous coffee shops to art displays.
It's a bustling place in the summer too. Many of the tourists were British, which meant the group could easily get along with them. The sense of humour was slightly off though.

One of the busiest tourist destinations was the Keukenhof Gardens. They are responsible for growing many types of flowers, and display them throughout the spring season. It is also the largest flower garden in the world. Impressive.

The place was a simple gravel pavement with bright colours littering the grass next to it, on both sides, There were so many flowers, it was humanly impossible to count them all.

The group were entering the park, after going through a small cafe and the front desk. It was the first time any of them had been there, and didn't know what to expect.

"This is so cool!" Clem exclaimed from seeing the overwhelming colourful view.

Fixated on the view, Louis replied with "I am in total and utter agreement."

Meanwhile, Marlon was too busy on his phone texting no one important to witness the stunning colours. He simply didn't see the interest but was happy to come along for the ride. His mum was interested in flowers and gardening though, so he recognised some of the varied breeds.

A young girl approached the group of four wearing a uniform and cap, handling leaflets and small pots of seeds. She had previously spoke to another tourist group. It was obvious by her attire she worked for the park.

"Hello there. Did you know 70% of the world's flowers are produced in Amsterdam?" She spoke with a strong Dutch accent.

Louis and Violet were politely talking back to the worker, and that's when Marlon looked up to witness the scene. The blonde boy instantly had a liking to the girl. There was no denying, she was stunning.

She looked tall for her age, around 5 foot 7 inches. But, she was still stood shorter than Marlon. Her long hair was tied back in and elegant low bun, covered by the hat she was wearing. Her skin tone was slightly tan, but still paler than Clementine. Her cheeks were dusted in a natural pink hue, making her look radiant.
Her whole look screamed innocence, which is everything Marlon wasn't.

Marlon instantly knew he had to take an interest in the conversation, so joined in on it. His opening line was "Hello pretty lady. What's your favourite flower?"

The name badge on her polo top read 'Cam'. She awkwardly paused her conversation with Louis and Violet to look at the tall and pale boy. The worker glanced him up and down, before low key ignoring him.
Returning to the conversation at hand, she replied to a genuine question that Violet asked.

At the blatant rejection, Marlon felt unusually intimidated by the stranger. Normally, he could swoop girls off their feet and have no problem striking up a conversation. Even though, his choice of pick up lines was questionable.
