Mabel on the Ring

The Next Day

Mabel's pov
I wake up the next morning feeling a bit better. I look down at the big cut on my leg and it's sore when I touch it. I climb out of beg and stand up. My leg is sore to stand on. I limp over to Daddy's bed.
"Daddy." I whisper
"Mmmm." He mumbles to me.
"Can I lay down next to you?" I whisper.
He rolls over and looks at me. He lifts up the blanket and I jump in and snuggle up next to him. He kisses me on my forehead and I fall back to sleep.
I open my eyes some hours later and Daddy wasn't next to me. I sit up and call out for him. He didn't answer though. I climb out of bed and walk quietly around looking for him. My leg was aching. It was sore and I started to limp again. I limp out of our room and walk down the hallway looking for him.
"Daddy." I call out again.
I start to cry again. It was sore and it hurt.
"Mabel." Echo calls out from behind me.
I turn around.
"Where Daddy?" I cry
"He should be with everyone else in the dining hall." She states.
She walks up to me and then leans down to look at me.
"Come here." She opens her arms.
I hug her and she picks me up.
"We'll go find him." She calms me down.
We walk to the hall and I find him.
"Daddy." I cry
He gets out of his seat and runs to me.
"What's wrong?" He asks all concerned.
"It's sore. It hurts badly." I cry
"I saw her limping on it." Echo spoke.
Daddy lifts up my pyjama pants and looks at the cut. It was bruised and looked yucky.
"I think it's infected. We are going have to try and find something like a disinfectant to stop it." He tells Echo.
"I'll take her to Harper." Echo said.
Echo passes me to Harper and I sit on a couch with Harper.
"Are you okay sweetie?" She asks me.
"Yeah it just hurts."
"I know but everyone is looking for something to help. Your so brave." She tells me
"You think so." I look at her.
"So brave, like your Mom." She smiles
"I don't remember her but I miss her." I tell her.
"We all miss her Mabel." She replies.
We hear footsteps coming towards us then Daddy appears from around the corner. He had a container with some white cream in it.
"Where did you find that?" Harper asks.
"I went on an adventure like Mabel did into the vent and I found a room with medication." Daddy explained.
Daddy rubbed the cream of my cut and told me I should rest it as much as I can. That's hard for me because I always like doing something. Harper carried me back to my room and I got dressed. I put on Mommy's old shirt from when she was little. It was still a little big for me but I didn't care. I carefully put on my jeans and boots and then Harper tied my hair back into a ponytail. We finished in my room and I held Harper's hand as we walked out and joined the others who were all near the vent that I climbed in.
"What are you doing?" I ask
"You discovered this and now we want to see what's on the other side to see if anything can help us." Raven spoke.
"Is Daddy in the vent?" I ask
"Yeah he's in the other rooms on the other side." She replied.
I let go of Harper's hand and I walked off to the dining hall. It's where everyone hangs out. I go and sit on the couch looking out the window and I see Earth. I wish I knew if Mommy was alive down there. I really want to be with her. I continue to look out there when I hear a noise. I turn around but I don't see anyone. I get up and walk around the corner and Murphy jumps out at me and scares me.
I scream.
"Murphy." I yell
"Woah easy there little princess." He smiles.
"You scared me." I tell him off.
"It's only a bit of fun." He tells me.
"Well you be careful because you might just get scared really soon." I told him. He smirked at me and I laughed. He then came over and picked me up and started tickling me. I fell to the ground in fits of laughter. I hear footsteps but I was too busy laughing and trying to fight back with Murphy to notice who it was.
"What are you doing?" I hear my Daddy's familiar voice.
Both Murphy and I stopped and I stood up.
"Murphy scared me and then he started tickling me." I explained with a smile.
"Oh really." He smiled.
"Yeah it was funny." I giggle.
"Well it looks like you want to be tickled more." He laughs and comes up and starts tickling me. I squeal with happiness. He stops and we sit down on the couch.
"What did you find on the other side." I ask him.
"Well nothing the could help us get to the ground. But we did find clothes, medicine, toys for you, and lots of other bits and pieces." He looks at me.
I smile back at him.
"I love you Daddy." I tell him
"I love you too Miss Mabel." He smiles.
It was dinner time and Monty served up the algae again. At least this time we all seemed happy even me. My leg was feeling a little better but still hurt to walk on. After dinner we all sat on the couches and decided to play some games. We played charades which was my favorite game to play. I didn't think about anything sad for a while. I've never seen Daddy laugh that much either. Echo and Daddy sat next to each other on the couch and they were holding hands. It was my turn. I get down on my hands and knees and crawl around.
"A baby." Raven shouted.
I kept crawling around I pretender to drink water out of a bowl.
"A dog." Emori guesses.
"Yes." I squealed the jumped up. I ran over to Daddy and jumped on him and Echo. It was so much fun and we were all laughing. Eventually I got tired and I fell asleep on top of both Daddy and Echo. I briefly wake up when Daddy was carrying me to bed.
"Where's Echo?" I whisper
"She's with the others." Daddy says back.
"Can she come and say good night?" I yawn.
He opens our door and places me in my bed.
"I'll get her to come in and say goodnight." He wipes my hair back. He places my blanket over me and kisses me on my head.
I was almost asleep again when Echo comes in. She sits down on my bed.
"You wanted me to say goodnight." She smiles.
"You like my Daddy don't you." I tell her
She nods.
"I like you too. You can sleepover here." I tell her.
"Well Thankyou Mabel." She laughs.
I roll over and I fall soundly asleep.
