Stepping out of your shell
Have you ever looked around
And wondered if you belong
Standing on that ancient mound

People seem to be made of stone
Roll away that old rusted rock
And let the aggressive walls moan
You wish peeps would just stop the clock
It's time to let in the light
You've got to stop blaming yourself
Put your fear out of sight
You need to put fear on the shelf
One in the crowd
You fall through the fingertips of society
And no one in their right mind wants to be with you
No matter what you'll never see from others eyes
You often stand with the crowd in their mystery
Not knowing you will always stick out to them
Seeing your light heart seems impossible
Why can't you understand that their the wrong crowd
What they say and do are quite unforgivable
Yet you continue to follow them like a small puppy
Like you can't go out on your own anymore
You look into the mirror and don't know who's looking back
Sorrow has no bounds yet giving up is no longer an option
Be yourself
Do people stare at you?
Wondering where your going to?
Thinking you're something you're not
Whispering to each other calling you hot
Though you always try to blend
No one quite gets the message your trying to send
Why do they not understand?
The life you want seems to be banned
When you feel like your perfect ideals are falling apart
There is no one you can really trust with a heart
Though they try to be kind every once and awhile
But you only see smirks behind their smile
As is always said, it's time to fight
You need to be you with all your might
Causing loneliness by being so
You feel in the dark in every moment
You are surrounded by constant shadows
People smile and laugh
But you will never understand
You are an outsider in every way
Not that you don't try
But the knotting in your stomach when you talk
Or the sweating in your palms
May be a sign you believe you don't deserve it
You don't think you deserve love or affection
But you do deserve love
You do deserve someone to care for you
You never need to feel like you can't ask
Ask for forgiveness for not being there
Just step out of your terrified bounds
No one can stop you
Bullying out of hatred for yourself
You try not to be the one that is pitied
But your cruel behavior causes even more pity
If you tell a small girl she's ugly
She then knows your greatest weakness
Every mean word you say is misdirected
It is not for the victim, it is towards yourself
Do you really hate yourself so much?
So much that you cause tears?
Tears that you shed when alone?
The more you hurt others the more people see your pain
Your horrid tongue makes yourself more and more translucent
Making it easy to see right through you
Right to your broken core
Stop being mean and look in the mirror
Have a good cry and figure out your broken parts
Maybe then you'll once again be full
