Chapter One

Dear Diary,

'Many have told me that women can't be pirates; I have proved their thinking wrong. I have sailed these seas with my father ever since I was just a little one, and after his passing I knew I should take upon myself to pass on what he loved best, sailing the blissful ocean.

It' against the law in my hometown of Charleston to be a pirate or committing anything along the lines that deal with piracy. Many are scared of the word, consequences, but I have to tell you that word makes me want to keep doing what I have been for the last 3 years I have been on my own.

See I own my own pirate ship and crew. The Wonderer is operated by the best male crew that I have ever asked for. My father used to be apart of the government in Charleston but after being held captive on a pirate ship persuaded him to do what he loved most. Many of you are probably wondering where my mother might be, well she passed away while giving birth to me. I guess you could say I was a miracle baby, but I don't feel so important like I...'

"Teagan!! TOWN AHOY!" interrupted Talon, my best friend ever since childhood. He was the only thing that has kept my crew in great shape, I owed him everything.

I ran up the stairs from my captain's quarters and looked to the west to see the bustling city of Kinsley, home of the best rum all over the sea.

"Tear the sails down and be sure to not hurt my beauty while getting up to the dock." I yelled to my crew. I turned and went back down the stairs. I currently didn't think my outfit was much of a disguise now, so I decided I should wear one of my somewhat nice dresses. It was black with crème colored sleeves that would blow freely in the wind. It was tight fitting and fit quite nicely. I through on my black knee high boots and noticed the boat had finally stopped. Before going upstairs, I strapped on a sword. I was always prepared in case of something happening.

Finally, a town. I needed some time away from all these men. Rum sounded the greatest. I quickly decided I shouldn't be wasting time and ran up the stairs and I hit something hard. I looked up and noticed it was Talon.

"Excited, are we?" he chuckled, helping me up.

"Yeah," I replied, rubbing my head," I need time to rest and think things out. You are coming in town?"

"Well, yeah I haven't had any loving for over a year. I am most definitely coming into town. You need let yourself have some fun, you don't need to keep worrying about this, and you're doing the right thing." He said, while walking down walkway to the docks.

"I hope so; I just miss him and feel I'm not as good as he was. I just need a drink." I said, in an exhausting tone.

"I agree, for you my lady." He said, while holding open the parlor door. It was loud with men singing and yelling. Glasses hitting the walls and I quickly looked around while Talon got us drinks. I noticed in the corner, a table that was deserted and not much ruckus seemed to be happening over there. I ran for it trying to dodge any flying glass and flying men for that matter. As I ran, I felt something grab my butt from behind. This infuriated me.

"Hey pretty lady; I wo...uld lov....e to be the cat...to... to...to your mouse. I wo...uld run...run around and catch you aaaaaany day." Slurred a drunken man.

"Don't you ever touch me!" I yelled, hitting him right in the face.

The whole bar suddenly went quiet, until someone yelled, "FIGHT!"

I had men charging at me with fists and swords even women were. I grabbed my sword defending every side until that's when Talon was at my side fighting along with me. Even though, it seemed everyone was against me they began to turn on themselves.
