About 2 hours had passed since I had gotten to the party. I completely forgot to check my phone.
10 missed calls and 15 text messages. A majority from Titan and a few from Adrian.
Titan had been asking where I was and demanding me to come back home. I replied back to his text messages stating I'd be at school tomorrow and we can talk then, but until that time, he needs to leave me be.
I then opened up Adrian's text messages.
"Hey Addie, I hope it's not too late to be texting you. I was wondering if we could facetime."
Dang it. He sent that over an hour ago.
I quickly facetimed him, hoping he would answer.
After 3 rings, the gorgeous face of Adrian Ramirez popped up.
Keep it cool Addie. Keep it cool. I say to myself.
"What's up Addie? I thought I had been stood up." He said laughing.
"What?! Never. I just had some things to do, but I'm all settled in right now. What are you up to?"
After 10 or so minutes of us having casual conversations back and forth, Adrian asked if I had been feeling better from earlier that day.
Filling him in on what's been going on in my home since Titan left, Adrian let out a heavy breath.
"Wow Addie. I'm sorry to hear that."
Just as I was about to reply back to him, I hear the bedroom door open. Trying to focus my eyes across the dark room to see who was entering was difficult.
"Ummm. Can you get out? The party is out there." I tell the person.
"No. No. No. The party is in here Ms. Adeline." The person says in a slurred voice.
Realizing it was Leo, I put my phone on the bed and tried pushing him out the door.
Leo then began to over power me. Stating he didn't know why I was acting so shy or hard to get.
Trying to keep my calm, I continued to ask Leo to get off of me and to leave the room immediately.
He soon shifted all of his weight onto me and we both fell to the floor.
"Leo! GET UP! GET OFF OF ME!" I began pushing on his shoulders and trying to wiggle out from under him.
Leo took my hands and pinned them over my head. He then looked me in my eyes and said slyly, "Ms. Adeline, do you really want to make this more difficult than it has to be?"
My eyes widen. I was feeling fear, anger, and hopelessness all at once.
I began to scream hoping someone would hear me.
Feeling his hands cover my mouth, streams of tears began to flood down my face. This couldn't be happening. No. It's not happening.
I tried to zone everything out, but I could hear a voice calling my name. It sounded like it was getting louder with each second.
I finally heard it loud and clear.
I then felt Leo's body being lifted off of mine.
Scurrying to the corner I put my face into my knees and began crying.I then heard shouting.
Looking up, I saw two men brawling. I wasn't sure who the guy was, but I was just happy that he came.
The entire party must've heard because I could hear cheering and others asking for them to stop.
Someone then turned on the lights.
Blinking my eyes rapidly to adjust. I saw numerous eyes staring at me. It was as if people were putting together what happened piece by piece.
You had me, the girl in a corner crying trying to cover her body.
One guy sloppy drunk telling everyone she was asking for it.
And the other guy.... The other guy was Adrian.
How?
Remembering that he was on facetime before the whole ordeal took place, I was in shock.
Bringing myself out of my own thoughts, I heard Adrian scream, "You're a liar and I'm going to make sure you go down for what you tried to do to Adeline!"
Adrian threw one more punch and knocked Leo off his feet.
Rushing over to me, Adrian helped me up and asked me where my things were so that we could leave.
Still shaken up, I pointed to my belongings. As Adrian grabbed them, I looked at Leo. Hate and anger filled my body.
Next thing I knew I was kicking and punching him while screaming, "HOW DARE YOU?! HOW DARE YOU?! YOU'RE SICK AND I HATE YOU! I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU REGRET BEING BORN! JUST WAIT AND SEE!"
Adrian pulled me off of Leo and tried calming me down by stating we would make sure he got sent to jail.
Still fuming with anger I pushed through the spectators. I then became even more upset.
Before I walked out the door, I turned to them and conjured up the strength to say, "I called for help. None of you heard me. None of you came. And even now you look at me wondering if I did something to deserve this. He's a monster and i'm going to make him regret what he did."
Walking out the door and down the street, I could hear Adrian calling out my name.
"Addie! Addie wait up!". He ran to catch up to me.
"Where are you going to go?" Adrian asked while catching his breath."
"I'm not sure, but I'm not going home and I'm not going back to towards Leo's house."
"Would you feel okay with coming to mine? My parents are home so I would have to let them know what's going on." Adrian stated.
Did I really want to trust another guy? I knew I shouldn't have went to that party, let alone stayed in his home. Was Adrian just like him underneath this nice boy image?
Hesitating to answer, Adrian interjected, "Addie, I promise I would never do anything to hurt you. My home is right around the corner so it's totally up to you."
"So that's how you got there so quick" I whispered more to myself than to him.
"Yea. Leo and I don't stay too far from one another, we've been over to each other's houses, but I never really connected with him like that."
Still in a daze, I replayed the event over and over in my head.
"I'd like to go to your house."
