In a shattered reality the world listens to our disdain, our cries of grief and sorrows of inner desires. It saddens my core existence knowing the pain of a few, warms the hearts of many. Do you hear that? Soft moans of misery? This is the emotion that resonates inside the souls of those who lavish for a story of prodigious dejection.
As I listen from afar, I am not without sympathy - only absorbing an efficient amount which should last an entire night. I am no different from any other person who enjoys a warm cup of anything, mixed with despair - sprinkled with agony and just a dash of despondency.
Just so you know - I am keenly aware of my own personal failures. However, human insecurity only allows laughter in the midst of emotional suffering, giving us a way of releasing pent up aggression, all the while laughing inside to the misfortune of others.
As many of you may already know - I come from a tiny mid-western town inside the confines of Ohio. A town consisting of fifty-thousand residents, no real crime to speak of - only hurt feelings and phony complaints of adultery. It's funny how some people enjoy the company of misery, even when misery doesn't want the company. I guess we are left to our own mental demise - reluctantly never understanding our true purpose on this earth.
If anyone were to ask- Cutler, is a reminder of the Reagan years that destroyed so many towns across the United States. Only tales of vibrancy remain; however, with every passing year - even the most epic tales of fame seem to fade. Sometimes, when I begin to recall images of the past, notions of a sustained community surface. A once flourishing school system filled with over seven thousand students, vanished overnight to as little as a thousand. Parks that were once colorful - live today in a gray unmanaged environment. The inspiring thoughts of rebuilding a diminished city are more often trumped by sub-par leadership and unambitious administrators. Although sometimes gloom - we are a community of strong morals, relating to our previous ancestry. We plunge fully into danger as to help anyone in need, and racial conflict is often a subject that rarely inhabits conversation.
As it is, our community is mostly friendly, made up with an equal amount of black and white ethnicities. A poverty stricken area that's splattered with caring, considerate residents. We often pass time at home, entertaining ourselves while drinking adult beverages, laughing and enjoying the best of company amongst family and friends.
Some of us are aware of hidden troves of secrets lying beneath the community - they have a way of surfacing from time to time, reminding us of our past atrocities. I don't care though, most of us have skeletons that at times dance their way to the light waiting for the perfect act to debut.
As for my career, I've conceded that I'll never make a considerable amount money as an investigator; however, staying in the good graces of those who helped raise me - can only increase my notoriety.
I am unsure as to where my current career will lead; but, I'm absolutely sure - I'll never be in danger of having real wealth as a private investigator. Oh well, in the meantime - I'll continue watching husbands and wives squirm with a snap of a photo - revealing the ugly truths that lurk behind closed doors. Who knows; maybe, just maybe - I'll make a difference in the life of someone in need.
