"Real best friends are the type that are able to go out and if anything happens they are automatically best friends again"-Unknown
I started running down the hallway. "Drew!" I squealed out among all the people in the hall. Drew turned around and when I finally caught up to our group he questioned "What could you possibly want that you have the necessity to scream out my name down the hallway?". He turned back around because of one of our friends had called and won over his attention from me. The moment I realized he stop focusing on me I jumped on his back in a swift-like motion and whispered in his ear "Drew, I have a present for you. Get your butt away from the group and I'll tell you where to go if you would like your surprise." With what I had announced in his ear, he cut off what our friend, Damian, was saying and headed off to the direction I had pointed to beside his neck.
When we turned the corner, entering the other hallway, he gently carried me off his back and set me down right in front of him. "So what's my surprise?" Drew asked. " I need to talk to you first." I answered quickly. "What's wrong? Are you okay? Do I have to go beat up someone's butt for you?" He seemed worried but I didn't know why because nothing had happened lately to make him paranoid. "No! What forced you to say that?" I replied, curious to find out why he was acting very concerned about me. His expression seemed to lose the tension a little bit and as he was about to reply, my phone rang. I felt it buzzing in my back pocket so I acquired it and answered, not paying attention to who it was.
Everyone anticipated me pushing the red button on my phone to end the call. I was the only one who knew who I was talking to and if they knew, they would beat me up. My friends and I had agreed that I wouldn't talk to him anymore after what happened about three months ago. I got off the phone and they were all satisfied that we could leave school now. "So who were you talking to, Amber? You seemed pretty perky when you were on the phone." my friend, Breanna questioned suspiciously. I didn't know what my explanation would be. Sometimes I could get away from lying but other times I was horrible at it. "Well, you see-" I stopped there because now they were all staring me down expecting me to answer. I knew that this time I wouldn't get away with my distortion this time so I just sighed and walked off leaving them wanting my explanation.
