you never loved him.

this wasn't suppose to be how it turned out yet here you are. you stood at his doorstep, shock and disbelief on your face as you choked out words that weren't yours. the red in his eyes flustered and you could tell that he really did mean it. the blush on his angry cheeks were enough.

you didn't know he loved you.

you stuck yourself in a situation you can't get out of. he hung on your word and thrived off your attention. you didn't know what to do but you didnt want to be a asshole either. afterall.

it was a dare anyway.

days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months. you slowly found yourself slipping, failing to tell him and before you knew it. almost half a year went by. it was getting harder to tell the truth when more people commented how well you both looked together.

your stomach folded by how genuinely happy he looked.

when you broke down and screamed what was crippling you, the blank stare on his face hurt more than it should.
