Children laughing. Bells ringing. Crying babies. Music playing. It was March 21, the day for fun..a day to celebrate when the darkness was defeated and joy could be everywhere again. In the crowd of men, woman, and children..was a small girl with beautiful dark hair, and eyes a bright violet. She couldn't see the parade because of her height and was trying to push through the crowd to the front, but only to be pushed backwards each time. The girl didn't like this at all. "Hey! I can't see sir!" The small england girl cried out. The man in front of her couldn't even hear her small sweet voice. The girl was fed up and pushed to the opposite side and out of the crowd. She had wasted her grandmother's money to come into town by bus for this celebration, and she couldn't even enjoy it. The moment she got there she was picked on for how she looked, wearing dark colors and having mysterious eyes. The girl didn't understand why everyone stared at her strange, her grandmother told her it was because of the darkness that people fear so they fear what is different. "Why grandma?" She asked earlier. Her grandmother shook a finger at the girl as she spoke, "Humans are strange creatures darling..we're selfish and warlike beings, they don't like what they can't understand and I don't know why but they do." The girl felt warm tears form in her pretty eyes as she sat next to a beautiful sparkling fountain. "Oh grandma..I wish I understood." She whispered to herself. After a moment of silence she heard a voice come from in front of her and raised her eyes.

"Understood what?"

The girl stared blankly at the boy in front of her. He was completely different from everyone else she saw so far and he stood out like the sun in the sky. The boy had bright pumpkin color hair with bright red eyes that looked like fire, even his outfit was bright! The girl shielded her eyes and looked up at him. "You should learn how to mind your own beeswax!" She said. The boy tilted his head, making some bangs fall in front of one of his eyes. "Beeswax? Is that what you humans say? Beeswax??" The boy held back a chuckle as he covered his mouth with a small tan hand. The girl stood up as fast as she could and asked, "What do you mean 'you humans'? Aren't you a human?" The boy shook his head like a dog. "No!" he laughed, "Why? Are you?" The girl didn't say anything as music flooded the area and her gaze didn't leave the boy. She could hear people shouting but she didn't move at all. That is..until she was lifted up and thrown onto the ground. She quickly sat up, not in much pain but her back hurt a bit, to see the boy in her place..his hands outstretched with a flaming shield in front of him, and being held back by the shield was a car. The girl stumbled up as her eyes widened when a group of people came rushing over to check on her, and scream at the boy that he was a freak. She watched with sad eyes as the boy looked at her with his, put his shield down, and run off. "W-wait!" The girl cried out, pulling away from the crowd that surrounded her and even the car. She sped after that boy and he wasn't that hard to lose anyways. The boy slowed down after awhile and faced her, breathing rough and hard. "What?" He managed to get out. The girl stopped in her place as she played with her fingers. "Y-you..you saved me." She whispered. The boy slightly grinned as he shrugged. "It was the right thing to do." He said to her. The girl's eyes started to shine as she felt tears form again. "W-why did those people make fun of you though? You SAVED me.." She cried out, not being able to help herself. The boy quickly reached out and grabbed onto her arm, his own hand warm and comforting. "Because I'm different...and humans here don't like my kind because of the darkness. Which..I can't blame them." The girl's tears went away as she pulled herself to the boy and hug him tight. She whispered to the boy..shocking the boy right away, "Well I like you. You saved me." She felt his warm arms hug onto her back and slightly smiled.

"Who needs them anyways? I can be your friend."
