My boss might want to kill me for taking another leave but I lied that I got a serious flu & I had to be under medication, thankfully my mom was a doctor & she helped me after a lengthy lecture but I told her it was a very important mission in my life & she has no option but agree. We reached Miami by lunch time & Francisco was already there at the airport to pick us up, he might be thinking why I'm even here but by the looks of him he was rather excited to see me as he gave me a tight hug.

We headed to the hotel as Francisco booked another room for me because he didn't expect me to show up out of nowhere & I had no option but tell him the truth about why I've suddenly decided to show up after ditching his brother like friend at the airport two months back. I narrated him the entire incident & finally confessed that I'm the girl whom Santiago met during his looting & putting Gabriel down three years ago & to be honest he was not really shocked at all because he had his doubts from the start.

He told me Santiago was a hard to read man when it comes to love or relationships but three years ago when he met this mystery girl in the middle of a drug war, he was completely smitten that all he could think or talk about was her. Francisco was not there so he never knew or met the person whom his friend liked but the others were the living proof that Santiago really fell for her. It took 30 years in his life to find one true love in this profession of his & that also he lost her because of the very profession he lived by.

He distanced himself from relationships & women but suddenly when he met me at the beach that day we connected in a way Francisco has never seen & he showing interest & loitering around sparked doubts about me but Francisco didn't have the courage to ask me nor him about it but now as I narrated what really was the situation between us all his doubts were cleared & he's glad I'm trying to do something about us instead of running away. I told him not to mention about me to Santiago & he gave me his word, I wanted to meet him at the wedding so I decided to skip the rehearsal dinner at the hotel that night as Julie & Francisco attended like the happy couple they were.

I was fast asleep in my room when Julie walked in, she had the spare key in her hands "you asleep?" She asked as she sat down on the bed & switched on the light "now I'm not" I growled.

"Santiago's here" she stated as I got up in shock "where?" I asked.

"Not here" she chuckled "but he's here in this hotel as well, for the wedding" she told me, I gave a sigh of relief as I sunk into my pillow "he was asking about you" she said slowly.

"About what?" I questioned.

"How you were & how you have been" she replied.

"Oh" I responded.

"The thing is, I don't want you to freak out but he's here with a lady" she said as I got up from my bed in shock "What?"

"I don't know who she is, but they came together" she told me "Are you fucking kidding me right now?" I looked at her.

"I'm not" she mumbled.

"I came here for what then" I said in disbelief "I think I've to leave right now" I stood up.

"Stassi, please we don't even know who she is...I told Francisco to confirm about her & tell us" she looked at me "I don't want to know, I might have an anxiety attack I'll just leave right now...I need a drink" I mentioned as I got into the bathroom & washed up.
