Mary couldn't sleep so she was in the kitchen warming some milk when there was a knock on the door . She wondered who it could be at this hour since her parents sister and brother in law were right there in the school. Before she unlocked it she asked Who is it?
John Sanderson from this evening not knowing his ex fiancé was on the other side
Mary let him in and said Hello Mr Sanderson what brings you here at this late hour?
Well Mrs Kendall he said with sarcasm Mr Smith forgot these papers for your husband earlier and it cannot wait until tomorrow.
Ok Mary said I'll get these to Adam good night
Good night he's half way out the door then stops and turns around and says Mary um can we talk?
Well since i can't sleep I uh guess so
Mary sat down at the table John was across from her. She started drinking her milk when he said " So um how are you? " You asked me that John she chuckled oh right he said "How long have you been you know"

Yes twice actually but I lost both of them. A tear was going down her eye one was a miscarriage and one was born but died as a baby in the fire of the last school

He just chuckles again
John Isiah Sanderson jr tell me now! Mary demanded
He answered" I just wondered if we DID get married what would happen to our marriage . *he laughs again*
What? She asked confused and surprised that he asked that
Well he started but was interrupted
I DONT NEED YOUR EXCUSE JOHN JR she shouted FIRST THING IS FIRST YOU ARE A JERK,A LIER AND A CHEATER She started to cry like she did that last night she saw him. She was trying to hold back her pa's temper ever since she heard his voice. SECOND GET OUT I NEVER WANT TO HEAR YOU AGAIN GET AWAY!!! By this time she was bursting in tears And John just stood there surprised because he never saw her like this
By this time everyone was awake. Hester sue was trying to get the kids back to sleep, Laura told John to go and never come back because Mary's feelings meant everything to her. Ma was comforting her, Adam asked what happened but Mary didn't answer she just kept sobbing,pa wished he whip that boy twice once for three years ago and once for whatever he did now, Almonzo thought this was a family situation so he just warmed up milk.
10 minutes later
"she finally fell asleep" Adam sighed as he ran his hands through his hair
"Good" Laura sighed with relief
After a seconds of silence Adam spoke up and said "ok this cant wait till morning. What happened?
Adam,Laura,Almonzo,Charles,Caroline,and Hester sue sat down at the table in the same places as yesterday.
