"Ugh! I need a job." I say. Currently, dad, Jai, Reece and I are sitting at the kitchen island. It has already been two weeks since my mom left and she has yet to contact any of us.
Dad and I ran into her yesterday in the grocery store, like literally. He and I was in an argument about if pineapple belongs on pizza and dad hit her grocery cart with ours.
It has been two great weeks. No Kyle, no mother. Just Jai, Dad, Reece and I. Sometimes Samantha and Raven would come over. As soon as I called them when I got back from being kidnapped, they got here as fast as they could and engulfed me in a tight hug.
It has been two weeks since Reece and I declared our love for each other. We went out to eat that night. He took me to a little diner and we just ate and talked about anything that came to mind.
Reece has came over everyday since I got back.
"Why do you need a job?" Dad asks. Taking me out of my thoughts.
"It will help me have something to do. Plus a little money in my pocket." I say.
"I give you money any time you need it." He says.
"Come on, lets face it, I am tired of asking you for money every time I need or want something." I say. "Reece, will you come with me?"
"Sure thing mi amore." He says.
We walk out to his car and get in. The ride is quiet other than the soft sound of the radio.
We go to a small diner and I start to get nervous. What was I thinking? No one would want to hire me.
"You will do just fine. Now get in there and kick some butt, yeah?" Reece says.
I nod my head then get out and go in.
"Um, are y'all hiring?" I ask.
"We are. We need some help. Currently we are the only two working here." The woman says, gesturing to the other woman.
"Could I fill out an application?" I ask.
"You want to work here?" She asks. It seems like she doesn't believe me. I nod my head. "You are hired. You can start tomorrow." That was easy.
I run out to Reece and throw my body at him leaning against his truck. He throws his arms around me making sure I don't fall.
"I got the job." I say. He smiles at me, and gives me a knowing look.
"I knew you would." He says.
I get down but our hands slide into each other's. He looks down at our hands and immediately I pull my hands to my sides. He reaches out and grabs them interlocking our fingers.
I look up at him to see he is already looking at me. "Will you go on a date with me? Tonight? Like now?" He asks nervously. I giggle at his nervousness. He shouldn't be nervous. I have been hoping he would ask.
I nod at him. "I would love to." I say cheekily. We get in his vehicle and he starts driving. Where? I have no idea.
"Where are we going?" I ask. He looks over at me and smirks.
"It's a surprise." He says.
We continue driving for about twenty minutes then he pulls into a parking lot. Ahead it seems he brought me to some kind of, country place?
"What is this place?" I ask as I get out. He comes around the truck and gets by my side, interlacing our fingers.
"This." He pauses pointing to the building. "Is where I used to come. I used to come here every Friday and dance."
