Getting a proposal and having a so called fiancé is a girl's dream - well atleast for a twenty two year old Jennie it was. Until her parents came to town one day saying that she's arranged to be married, much to her shocked, to a girl named LALISA...
We saw my grandfather sitting in the capital of the long dining table, and on the other side is the person that I didn't think that would showed up and have the guts to step up here in the mansion again. My old man was talking but stopped in mid-sentence when Jennie and I came in.
"Lisa..." my grandfather gave me a knowing look but my eyes automatically landed to the unexpected visitor.
"Oh,hello there sister. Long time." The unexpected visitor greeted me. My face hardened but didn't say a word. "I heard that you get married. Why you didn't invited me."
"Cut the theatrics Jungkook,what are you doing here?" I said in a sharp tone.
"I've missed my family... especially my little sister. And I missed home." His eyes went to Jennie who's still standing beside me and I saw how his smile widen even more. On instinct,my hand snake around on my wife's waist. I'm just glad she didn't resist this time or I'll embarrassed myself in front of everyone. "Is she the wife? Aren't you gonna introduce your big brother?"
"What for?" I harshly answered.
"Oh come on sis. You haven't change a bit. Still the hard headed little Lisa." He stood up and walked his way towards us. "Forgive my sister's manners... I'm Jungkook, the older brother." He introduced himself to my wife then extended his hand.
"Jennie,please to meet you." Jennie took Jungkook's hand politely.
"Oh,believe me the pleasure's all mine." His giving Jennie an intense look and instead of a handshake,my asshole-of-a-brother took my wife's hand on his lips and planted a soft kiss on the back of her palm.
Jennie gave him a sweet smile before deliberately pulled her hand from him. I gritted my teeth on what I saw.
"I didn't know Lisa had a brother." Jennie said,matter of factly.
"Oh, knowing my sister, so secretive. Why I'm not surprised!"
I don't have any idea what he is insinuating but I will not let him get into me again. Not this time around.
"I'm glad you're not surprised. And I don't think I'm better than you when it comes to hiding. No one will defeat you on that." I said in full sarcasm.
His smiled disappeared and looked at me with a sharp eyes. He's bigger than me but being terrified was far from what I felt right now. Maybe before, when we our little kids. But I already outgrow my fear from him,just like how I outgrow our relationship as siblings. He didn't deserved any respect, most specially my respect.
"I think we should eat our dinner." My grandfather cut the tension. "Jennie,you can your sit. And also both of you."
Jennie obliged silently and so did I. I don't wanna make a scene in front of my grandfather and Jennie, and even though it's difficult for me, I tried to calm myself. I saw from my peripheral vision that Jungkook also sat down, in his usual seat,at the right side of our grandfather. Even his not here in the mansion before and my grandfather is telling me to sit on that side, I didn't agreed on him. I don't want to occupied his place just like what he always says.
"Are you going to stay here for long?" My grandfather asked after a few moments.
"It's depends grandpa." Jungkook answered after swallowing his food.
I just took my wine because I already lost my appetite. I don't think I could eat well knowing that my doubled-face brother was sitting right in front of me. I wonder how he could act as if he's still welcome in this house. He is really good in pretending and lying.
"Depends on what?" My grandfather frowned.
"It's depends if how you quickly give what I want. And you very well know what I want Grandpa." He said straight.
I gritted my teeth. I knew it!
"I already gave what you want." My grandfather said in a calm voice.
I remained silent, and glance at my wife. Jennie's attention is on her food but I know that she's listening and she understand what we are talking about.
"Come on grandpa, don't give me that crap. I'm not stupid to know that what you gave me was nothing compared to Lisa. Considering that's she's only--"
"Jungkook!" Grandpa quickly cut him off.
"Let him finish Grandpa. Why took him the privileged of hurling insults on me?" I said coldly, challenging Jungkook to say whatever he wanted to say.
"Lisa..." was it pity that I saw from my grandfather's eyes? Do I really look pathetic?
"Don't tell me Grandpa that until now, you're still protecting that little adopted of yours? What did you gained on adopting her? She's the reason why my parents died!?"
I know that Jennie clearly heard what he said.
"Jungkook, that's not your sister's fault." He said in a firm voice.
"It's her fault grandpa. Everything was her fault! But it's already in the past, now I'm claiming what's rightfully mine. Give me what I want and we don't need to talked anything." Jungkook stood up and was about to go but turned to me first. "I forgot to say, Naeun's giving her regards. All these years... guess she's still into you huh?" He smirk. "Oh, and Jennie, it was so nice to meet you again. I hope this will not be our last." He said to Jennie and went out.
We're left in the dining area. All my past emotions came back when I saw Jungkook again. My long lost brother. The person who made my life a living hell for years. He's so back and now he's starting to ruin my life again... and I think he will ruin it more. All I can think about is Jennie and our unborn children. I know that Jungkook will not spare then but I will not let him. I'll protect then for as long as I can.
"Lisa---"
"Grandpa, I'm tired. I will just take a rest." I quickly stood up and didn't bother to glance at them. More or less, I know what my grandfather will tell me, that I should understand my brother. The thought of it makes me sick, until when I should understand him?
