"Hey Amber, um well, remember when we planned out our life together? We were like five," Aleyah explains to her best friend on the hospital bed. Her mom let her see Amber once more until they left for Tennessee. "Yeah.... um we said we were gonna move in the same house, have a double wedding, have the same breed of dogs, and even the same curtain design. Yeah i know... we were bored at an all-night-er." She says with a chuckle. "Well, we're going to Tennessee! Yay! I know, you're not coming with me, but you are. No matter what happens to us you will always, always be right here." Aleyah gestures to her heart. Without being able to say anything more, she walks out of the room, leaving a copy of the picture behind because she couldn't bear to leave the actual copy behind.

"Hey mom since you're making me go to Tennessee, can you at least have the hospital call you every other day or something about Amber to make sure she's okay?" Aleyah asks her mom with a lot of annoyance in her voice.

"Honey, i know you're mad about this but you don't need to be rude honey, i know what you're going through." Ms. Jones replies.

"Really mom?! You really think you know what I'm going through?!" Aleyah practically screams at her mother who is pretending to do her crossword puzzle. "You're telling me you've had your best friend in a coma because of you, you were with her and you saw her, you could help her but you couldn't. Now you can't get her back, and you have to leave her because your dad gets a stupid raise." She finishes the last part mumbling.

Her mother doesn't reply, just looks down. "No. No i haven't honey, I'm sorry." She says with grief in her voice. She almost sounded like she was to tired to even speak.

"Whatever. I'm going to go pack, after all we leave in two days." Aleyah spits to out to her mom.

Her mother doesn't answer at all this time, just dismisses her with her eyes. Aleyah runs up to her room, slamming the door behind her yet again. She picks up her picture frame and realizes that she wont only be able to see her best friend for, she doesn't know how how long, but she wont be able to go to her favorite place to ride to. That makes her sad too. She looks at the picture for a long time until she cant stand to look at it any longer. She puts the picture back down and tries to get some sleep that night, even though it probably won't work.
