Just a little longer

Chapter One

I looked at the posters around my room. Aren't I to old for those? I stood up and reached under my bed. I felt my little box. I smiled and pulled it out. Opening the lid I took one of my pill bottles out. It was time for my medicine. I reached for the water bottle by my bed and opened the cap.
"Daeho, are you up yet?" Mina, my little sister asked opening the door a little so she could see me.
"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute. Can you get my backpack please." I said gulping down my pills. "Are you sure you'll be okay going to school? I thought you like home school." She mumbled. Of course she's scared for me to go to school. I've only ever been down the street. "I need to interact with people. I'm like a robot." I say making funny movements. She snorts and covers her mouth. We both bust out laughing.
"Is everything alright?" My mom calls from downstairs. We look at each other and nod. She takes my bag down and I walk with her. "Do you have everything packed Daeho? Remember give the pills to the nurse and give the coach your note-" She doesn't get to finish before Mina butts' in. "Ma, isn't he old enough to pack a backpack?" My mom looks like she's about to throw the pan she's cooking with at her. I add in quickly " yes mom, I gotta go see you!" I say giving Mina a kiss and going to my mom. "Be carful Daeho, if you need anything call I can pick you up." She looks like she's about to cry. "I'll be fine! Bye!" I rush out the door and start walking to school. It isn't that far. Around 3 blocks from my street.
"Is that Daeho?!" I hear someone call. I turn around and see the neighbor's daughter Sooji.  "What's up?" She greets me. "Hi" I responded lamely. "Gosh Kim, I'm not gonna hurt you because you don't talk formal!" She teases. I awkwardly laugh. Yeah.... this is awkward. "Oh! You go to EHS Academy too?! This is funny, what class?" She asks. She moves a lot. She can't stand still and it's bothering me. I grab her arms. She looks confused for a moment. "You're moving a lot." I say letting go. She nods.
"Sooji! I told you if-" she said walking to us one of those curl things in her bangs like what Mina always has. She looked at me and turned beet red. She snatched her curl thingy out and laughed. She tossed her hair to many times. I really thought she had a bug in there or something! "I'm Krystal Lee." She beamed. I shook her hand. "I'm Daeho Kim." I said trying to pull my hand away. She kept smiling, laughing and holding my hand. "Umm...could you let go..." I said pulling. She realized and let go, almost sending me flying backwards. "Right, let's go to school Daeho! I'll show you around." Sooji said looking at Krystal. She nodded too and they hooked there arms through mine.
