Out the whites and into the black.
Noctis momentarily felt as if he was being pricked with a thousand needles, all over his body. He opened his eyes and struggled for sight under the frozen surface of the lake. But soon he found his body adjusting to the conditions which would've been fatal for any other human.
Any other human...and there was one right infront of him. Noct's amber eye gave off a glow which spread like threads of gold, illuminating the pitch black depths of the lake. As he momentarily handed over his body to the freezing waters, everything around him seemed unreal. It all happened in a matter of seconds, but to Noctis, that surreal moment lasted an eternity.
He found a body, gently sinking to the bottom of the lake. A body which was like that of a pale ghost against the darkness, almost glowing with a white aura of itself. There was a shroud of black around the body, darker than the pool's depths, floating in a tangle of long hair. But there was blood too, swimming up towards Noctis like liquid smoke. The body had a face and as soon as Noctis recognized it, a voice in his head once more spoke an old fact to him,"Even now she's pretty."
But he already knew that, didn't he? Yes, it was a fact Noctis had lodged in his brain the moment he had first met Agnes Urbach.
But here, under some nameless freezing lake, stripped to the bone, the girl with her lids concealing her grey eyes was like some long forgotten water goddess. Not drowning but rather floating down to her realm in peaceful slumber.
