“Guys come here, quick.” priyanka quickly shut the computer down and left it as it was and rushed to her, she looked shocked, our eyes fell on the object she was holding, her hands trembling with fear. “th…th..this is the first time that I am holding a gun.” priyanka took the it in her hand and looked at it for some time then she said “guys, this is not a gun. It is a revolver, and it will have only six bullets.” she meddled with it for sometime and soon it revealed a bullet….. And to our surprise it had only one bullet. We all stared at the revolver. “ Elena you said you found five bullets in his body right.” “yes.” “and a revolver can only have six bullets right?” “I caught your mind voice.” she said. And suddenly……….all three of us stood still……. I looked at priyanka and she looked at me, knowing what I was thinking she nodded. And soon I pulled the surprised Elena and quickly hid behind a huge steel box. And priyanka took her place behind the curtain. All three ofusheld our breath, for we had heard noises outside, and found that the ladder was being moved.
I craned my neck to see who it was. I saw a leg of a man, and soon knew who it was ‘ROHAN’ and within seconds I could see him clearly, as soon as he got down, he looked up ‘wow!! How clever of us to leave that ladder like that.’ I thought, and soon I saw another leg appear, and even this was a man. And soon I saw him in full, he was none among the friends, he looked a bit old, soon both of them stared inside the room as if they were seeing it for the first time. They looked surprised, ya! Obviously, They must ... The trap door was open and there was a ladder…. . I quickly hid myself back…… “who could have been hear Rohan?” we heard the old man shout. And suddenly I felt Elena squeeze my hand. I turned to look at her. She moved her lips and told me that it was Ronald. And here was another suspense, I badly hoped that the suspense's are over. “no idea sir, but there is no one to be seen hear.” “do you think Elena had doubted on you?” “no way sir, she is an idiot, and her brain doesn’t work so hard. She can never suspect me.” “you could have been more careful that day, why the hell did you come away like that.” there was silence, and suddenly……………
Everything was spoilt..………… all of us were caught!! “wow!! What a pleasant surprise. You girls were not smart enough to hide yourself thoroughly….” Rohan said with a laugh. “ by the way What are you girls doing hear.” Ronald yelled at us. None could talk, We kept quiet. Ronald came forward, and we had to move backwards. The three of us were holding our hands tightly. And soon we had come to the end of the room, all we could do was just pray. ‘are we never going to see the world again? What will my parents do? Why did we buy that house? Why did we ever get into this mystery?’ I know it was too late, but who could stop the thoughts. Rohan and Ronald started laughing, Ronald came forward and snatched the revolver that I was still holding in my hand. If I ever knew that I was holding the gun, we might… might have been able to escape, and he pulled my cell phone too. He then went towards Elena, snatched her mobile, then Priyanka 's. Now, we were helpless. I turned and looked at both of them…………..
Elena looked pale….. While priyanka had no expressions on her face. I know she is the daughter of a police man….. But still, our lives were in danger and she showed no expression on her face. I stared at her and she looked at me and gave me a weak smile, which made me to stare hard at her. “you think, that you girls are clever huh.?” Rohan said smiling wickedly at us. We still kept quiet and were still standing hand in hand. Ronald walked forward to priyanka, he was too close to her, which made her to lean on the wall. “not scared? You think we’ll let you go? Then you are dreaming.” he said. He went back to where he was standing earlier. He pointed his revolver towards us, and his fingers were on the trigger, not a second would take to pull the trigger, and any one of us would die. Some how I had to distract him, so I gathered all the courage …….. “you think you will escape after killing us? Then YOU must be dreaming. You don’t even know what will happen to you after that.” “oh my god!! Let’s run away sir……” said Rohan and immediately started laughing.
“well, before I pull the trigger, I’ll tell you this. It was us who killed your Kevin, Elena. We heard him talk to you in the cafeteria, and had to wait so long to kill him. Well, I thought the matter is closed, alas what to do, here we are again to commit another murder.” “Hands up!!” there was a sudden silence in the room. None moved, and suddenly we saw the police dropping themselves down the trap door. “drop your weapon!!” yelled an officer. Rohan obediently dropped his revolver, the police slowly moved forward still pointing the gun towards them…… and suddenly an unexpected happened. Ronald grabbed the revolver and before he could pick it up we heard bullet shots……. Three of us closed our eyes….. And when we opened we saw the worst scene……………. Ronald was lying on the ground surrounded with pool of blood. Elena started crying, another two officer came towards us and led us to the ladder. We did not turn back . We were made to sit in the jeep. That was the first time I ever sat in the jeep. I looked at priyanka once we were comfortable, though not fully. She knew what I was thinking….. “as soon as we hid ourselves and they started talking, I started recording their conversation.” she paused, and we stared at her unbelievingly. “and then……” she continued “I sent a message to my dad telling him that we were in danger, with the record.” she was smiled at us when she completed. “how didn’t they find out, even with the light of your mobile?”I asked her. “well, I reduced the brightness of my mobile.” she winked at us. And this set us laughing.
We were soon in the police station. We had to file a complaint, we quickly filed the complaint and Priyanka sent the recording to the police. And soon we were at our house sitting on the couch. The first thing occurred to me was to call my mom. After all the happenings of last night, I badly wanted to talk to my mother. I called her up, I though did not tell her about the nights happenings. I quickly hung up, and looked at Priyanka, I quickly hugged her tight, and soon Elena joined. And slowly recovering, “hats off to your presence of mind girl!!” I said to Priyanka. “I am sure this would set my husband’s soul in peace.” Elena said and smiled at us, we smiled back. “now that your husband’s soul could rest in peace, you better don’t go around at nights, ok?” I said to her. “promise.” she said smiling. “this adventure has brought us closer to Elena, why not we celebrate our new found friendship taking a couple of days off?” Priyanka squeeted. “ will I ever say no to such a temptation?,” I winked….
