SUMMARY

They say the trouble with her is getting her heart and getting her trust. Desslyn Zachary is fearless and quite the epitome of badass- except only in front of her close friends. And by 'close friends', it means her foster twin siblings and a bunch of hormonal teen guys. When she's not, Dess is awkward, accident-prone and sassy. Quite the weird combination, but that is pretty much the reason why she stands as the 'weird-nerdy-badass-chick' at her high school.

After forgiving her abusive parents from her hellhole of a past, this year was unexpectedly faced with challenges for Dess. The main challenges? Finding out that her best friend's brother (which technically also is her foster brother) has feelings for her. And that the new girl?

She's a he.

A guy.

Cliché much?

Nope. It's the reverse.

Especially when the new student and your best friend's brother has feelings for the last person on earth who expects to be loved: you.

Okay so this is my second story heh! The inspiration for the first one burned out drastically, so I got hooked onto this new plot (plus I wrote my first one when I was really young). Before you read the prologue, I need to warn you that it would be emotional. Desslyn getting formerly abused does not play much of an important part in the story, but how she got fostered kind of is. So like the prologue is pretty dang banal in my opinion heh, but bear with me through the prologue! I know it has the cliche 'oh my god gasp she has a horrible past', but I hope you enjoy it nevertheless.

DESSLYN | FOSTER TWINS | 'NEW GIRL'

Okay so let me clear it all up here.

Desslyn's 'hellhole of a past' is in the prologue, so if you have read that you'd understand this part better.

So during her past, she runs away from home (where her real parents are) to a house she knows well in the woods and eventually meets a pair of twins, Layton & Summer (whose family was camping 'round that area). They bring her to meet their parents and their parents agree to adopt her though foster care, so Layton & Summer becomes her foster twin siblings. Summer, the girl of the twins, is now best friends and closest with Desslyn. Layton is the foster brother who is the one who admits his feelings for her (it's not incest but yeah).

The new girl? Basically the girl is a guy. Meaning, a guy is dressing as a girl. Disturbing and confusing? Definitely. He's the essence in this story that manages to wreck Desslyn's life up, so watch out.
