It was still dark in HorizonClan, and cats were too afraid to go out alone, at least one cat from each den kept an eye open as they waited in anticipation.
One cat grumbled in annoyance as he lay there, fidgeting until he decided to get up anyway, padding out of the warriors den and walking into the welcoming night. The tom took a deep breath and sighed, picking up on the scent of a squirrel and quickly chasing after it.
Fallenbreeze kept running for a while until he eventually caught up to the animal, ending its life with a swift bite to the neck. He smiled in satisfaction, and turned around to take it back to the camp.
"Never turn your back."
A shadow leapt upon him, and Fallenbreeze was overpowered by the figures with blood-thirsty gazes. He looked up at them in shock, before his eyes glazed over and he fell still.
Fallenbreeze has been killed. He was the Brightheart.

They found him as the sun rose over the mountain, the early sunlight illuminating his broken body. The cats stared at him, slowly becoming desensitised to the blood of each dead figure, their eyes pained and numb.
Maplestar stared at her devastated clan, and growled angrily, leaping to the top of a tree and looking down upon them, new determination flowing through the leader.
"We cannot keep allowing this to happen! We must discuss who is on our side, and who is not. No more lives can be lost."
