Heavy Ear Piercing

My dad used to be really overprotective at the age of 16. I wasn't allowed to do anything I wanted, I felt like he treated me like a child! Every time I'd ask to go out with my friends, he'd say no. - I went to school early today. Every month our school has a new trend such as Fila shoes, Tattoos, Loom Bands, but there hasn't been a trend lasting THIS long. I mean— it won't last. I bet it's forever! - I went over to my best friend. She was at the other side of the hallway. "Yo, Klarrisa! Over here, down the hallway!" I saw my best friend. She was kind of excited.. "Sup, where is all the excitement for?" I said. "Excitement?? I'm stressing! I want my ears pierced!" I didn't expect her to want something like that. Was it another trend? "What do you mean? I thought you didn't like them?" Which she replied to: "Its a new trend, this one is going to last forever!" I was kind of surprised. I was already thinking of getting one too! And so the bell rang. After class I was kind of nervous to ask my dad if I wanted a piercing.. "Dad, I'm home!" "Hi, sweetheart, how was sc-" "Dad I have a question!" I tried ignoring all his talking. 🤷🏻‍♀️ "What is it?" He replied. "Can I have my ears pierced?!" He obviously said no. But I didn't give up until he said yes. So when he did, he gave me money to go to the mall. "Alright, go to the jewelry store!" Instead I payed my best friend to get me one. She got hers pierced too. At school I soon got popular because of the ear piercing! But it started itching.. It felt so heavy.. I went to the bathroom to check, and I saw a.. string?.. coming out of my ear?? I started pulling it but it got worse. It got to my knees, so I found a scissors and cut it——

Everything went black.. I woke up hearing sobbing.. "I-I'm super sorry Kassidy! I didn't mean to make that mistake.." And she ran off. I didn't see anything, I started crying. "Where am I?! Where is everyone?!" Then I heard the doctor speaking: "I'm sorry, but you're going to be blind forever. "WHAT?!? WHY??!" "That string you cut.. wasn't a 'string..' "then what was it?"
