It was a week ago when we decided to make a time capsule. We, meaning me, Garroth, Laurence, Katelyn, Kawaii~Chan, Lucinda, Teony, Vylad and Aaron. It was a normal day – exactly a week before we were all due to graduate college. We were sitting on the grass to the side of the school, hidden amongst trees and bushes. It was our spot, a place we'd often go together. If it wasn't there it was in the trees, shouting to one another because they were far apart.
Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan had already told me what they were going to put in there. Katelyn was putting in the first volleyball that she played with in her club, long since deflated, and Kawaii~Chan was putting in the baking tray she used to make a cookie for everybody in the school. Everybody else was keeping theirs a secret, including me.
I was putting in a letter. I'd been working on it since the afternoon we decided, and I've gone through an entire notepad of paper trying to find the right words. At first I wanted to make it all cutesy with pink paper and glitter pens, but then decided not to, so I also wasted five sheets of pink sandpaper and an entire cartridge of white glitter ink. Now it was a white sheet with lines already there to write on, with a sakura-pink border. I was using a regular black fountain pen. Still pink, but not so much.
It wasn't for the entire group. It was for me in ten years when we were all twenty-eight, and something I'd give to Aaron not long after I read it. The stress of it was overwhelming because I know that I would comment on it in either a bad or happy way.
In Phoenix Drop the way that you confess to your crush is through these letters. It's a tradition. Everybody does it, and if you don't then usually you'll get rejected. Recently people have been spilling out their words before even handing over the letter, but as long as it's given to them, it's counted as the same.
Originally I was planning give Aaron the letter, let him read it, and then put it in the capsule.    Now I'm going to write two, the one with the confession to put into the capsule, and another saying that I wanted him to never lose contact until we opened it. I changed it because I felt like I should wait. There's more a chance that he'll accept my confession when we're older, and have more time to comprehend it. By then I'll know if I still want to tell him. If I don't, I can simply keep the letter to remember.
While I am eighteen I don't consider myself mature. He certainly is, however my face comes up whenever you look for the antonym of the word 'defined'. Everyone in our group makes fun of me for it. I often suggest childish things and they play along just to keep me happy. Usually it includes games of hide and seek in the trees or tagging people with fallen down branches. The branch game has caused some injuries, and Katelyn sometimes gets too into it, but we always ended up having fun.
The day of graduation rolled around like a five year-old wanting doughnuts. The rest of the week just seemed to disappear. On the last day of the week, Friday, we went to McDonalds after school. It was the last normal day of school and we wanted to remember it.

It was busy and full of other students doing the same thing, but Garroth ran to get a table with ten seats just in time before a couple sat at it. All of us wandered over to the self-order screens and started getting what we wanted. Aaron had offered to pay for all of us so we were taking it in turns.
I went after Aaron so I stood beside him while the others were doing there's. I had ordered for Garroth as he had the guard the table. "Do you have enough money for this?" I asked him.
"Positive." He said, putting his hands in his pockets. "I'm not paying, my dad is. He said he was willing to pay."
"I thought your dad was a jerk?"
He smiled. "He has his shining moments sometimes."
Raising a brow, I dropped it and didn't argue any further. Kawaii~Chan thanked him over and over because he let her get two giant McFlurry's as well as her meal. Everyone else thanked him but Katelyn, who just gave him a head nod. He didn't bring it to attention because everybody knew she didn't like showing any good-natured emotions. She particularly didn't like him because he was fitter then her, so for her to even give that head nod was a miracle.
It took twenty minutes for our food to be done as it was such a big order. They could only give Kawaii~Chan one McFlurry as they were running out and the machine was slowly breaking, typically. They refunded Aaron and he gave her the money, saying, "We'll go to a corner store after this and you can get a gallon."
We sat down and began eating. Garroth was equally enthusiastic and seemed relieved for us to finally emerge. I sat in the corner because I had social anxiety issues, like Vylad. He sat next to me and Aaron was across from me, promising me he'd fight off anybody who came near, being slightly sarcastic as he spoke. We ate slowly, savouring it since it was free food.
We talked for two hours and then the store managers said we had to leave because we'd been there so long. If we wanted to stay we'd have to buy something. To be sassy, Aaron ordered us all a second drink. He got Kawaii~Chan another McFlurry since the rules were one per order, and also let her keep the refund.
"I'll be regretting this later." She'd said, making us all laugh.
We decided to tell each other what we were going to put into the capsule. We weren't seeing each other all weekend because we were all going to Falcon Claw University or Meteli College to have a look around and decide what electives we were going to take. The day after Graduation was testing week, when we all went in for a week so we all planned to spend Sunday with our parents. Kawaii~Chan was going to spend it with me and my mom since her parents were on a vacation and her sisters were having endless parties.
Garroth was going to put in his favourite hair gel, and so was Laurence so they started fighting over it. Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan announced theirs, then Lucinda said she was putting in the first potion she made in Witchcraft that she hadn't used, nor tested. Vylad mumbled that he was going to put the test answers in from each of our final exams. He was brainy and had got A+'s for everything so he could just copy it all down. Teony was putting in one of the helper armbands we wore as a group on the first day of our sophomore year, when we helped freshmen's. I said mine, mentioning I was putting in a letter but not what they were about, and Aaron was then sarcastic yet again, saying he was putting in a tree leaf.
Unfortunately we believed him for ten minutes because it seemed quite normal, but then he told us he was kidding. We kept pestering him to know what he was actually going to put in there but he didn't tell us, keeping his lips shut other than when he laughed at some suggestions.
"Are you putting in something inappropriate?" He shook his head.
   "Clothing?" He shook his head.
   "Food?" He shook his head.
"A sacrificial statue to Lady Irene?" He snorted in laughter then shook his head.
Eventually he spoke up. "If you shut up I'll get you candy." We cheered, of course.
I stared at him, stunned. "How much did your father give you?!"
He smirked. "$200 dollars. Said he wanted us to do something exciting for once instead of hanging out in forests."
Everyone then started gasping. "I have $70 left so I don't know what we would do with that..."
   "Spoilt rich boy." Garroth mocked.
"You're one to talk." Vylad said.
   "So are you!"
Katelyn had thought of something but didn't say anything. I knew she had because she was staring into space dreamily. He noticed it. "What?" He asked her.
"We could come up with some sort of prank. Set it up today so that it's there on Monday." We all rose a brow and started discussing things we could do. Unfortunately, what seemed like a lot of money became not that much.
Eventually Teony's eyes shone. "I have a few printers at home. If we got ink and paper, we could print off pictures of the faculty with graffiti-ed faces and scatter them around the halls."
Katelyn's eyes shone. "Can I make them look stupid?"
   "If you must..."
So we set off to Costco and bought enough ink and paper for hundreds, if not thousands of sheets of paper. We went to Teony's house and luckily her parents were gone until eight, so we had enough time. We used her laptop and six printers (her parents were in business so they needed them all) to print of exactly 2,450 pages of them, copies and copies. Katelyn had done a great job at making them look silly, too. Half way through we all texted our parents that we'd be home late, then laughed for a further five minutes when Kawaii~Chan's sisters suggested we were doing something highly inappropriate
We laminated one of each and planned to replace the door numbers to the faces. We got a small roll of tape to stick a few sheets of paper up, then headed to the school in Aaron and Garroth's cars. I went with Aaron, of course, and he teasingly put me in a car seat. He only had it because he sometimes babysat for his parent's co-workers. Katelyn and Vylad who were in the car with us laughed their heads off the entire trip to the school. I was thankful that it was now dark out.
When he parked I screamed at him to get me out and so he did. Since Vylad and Katelyn were out and running towards the school, he planted a kiss on my cheek then helped me climb out. It was a friendly one but I blushed anyway. I grabbed my own giant stack of paper then closed to door with my hip. He grabbed his own then locked the car and we ran with the others to the school.
We knew for a fact that the janitor left at seven, and a back door was always left unlocked, so we snuck in. Aaron, being the slight nerd he is, found the control room and disabled any cameras, trekking along pitch black corridors for ever. We all waited outside the door until we saw the lights go on. He told us that he'd turn them on once the cameras were disabled and so was any security measures.
We all begun laughing and ran around the halls, throwing pieces of paper everywhere. They practically covered all of the halls. I ran straight into Katelyn and Lucinda a couple of times but we laughed it off, got up, gathered as many papers as we could, and then continued. Our head teacher was pretty chill so we knew she wouldn't tell us off for breaking in.
When I ran out, I ran calling for somebody else to take a few of theirs. I walked into Aaron as if he chance and he gave me half of the laminated sheets and some tape. He was the one putting them up so I helped him. Teony and Laurence asked for some so I gave them some too. Eventually everyone was sticking them on doors because there was so many.
Afterwards we decided we weren't done and went into every classrooms, writing our names on every chalkboard. We went as a group and didn't scatter this time. After that everyone left but Aaron who was turning off all the lights and putting the security measures back on – other than the cameras who recorded everything .There wasn't really a point as we had our names on every chalkboard in school, but did it anyway.
