Chapter 18

Heya Guysss

So, I'm going to try rewriting this story though I will warn you there might be inconsistencies with what's already written as I have new ideas :P Anyway I hope you guys like it and I'm sorry this took so long. Second Chapter will be out later today! <3 <3 sorry it's not back to back as promised.

I looked over at Craig as we stood out on the balcony of the condo looking outwards at the ocean. "Maybe we should put the wedding off," I told him softly as he whipped his head towards me taking my hands in his after putting his beer down. "No, fuck that shit Cat." He told me as I cocked my head to the side.

"Craig... I mean look at everything that is going on right now? Daren and the bar, Pope and Baz with this whole church thing... I have an event coming up soon. Not to mention Nicky lying to J about being in Guam."

"You didn't tell him?" Craig questioned me as I shrugged. "How do you tell a kid, hey that psycho you're in love with? Yea she's shacking up with dealers and burnt your uncle's house down."

Craig laughed softly tucking my hair behind my ear, "Probably just like that." 

"He's supposed to message me later, said he had something to tell me in private. I suppose I'll tell him if he ever does that. Craig, we really should just think about it... clearly, this family is going to find a way for us to just... not get the wedding we want. There will always be something. Hell, we still have no idea where Catherine is." 

"She's a smart woman, she's probably far the hell away." He told me as he sat down taking another drink of his beer. "Without Lena?" I asked him as my phone went off. "Is that J?" He asked me as I nodded.

"The coke is in the top drawer... if you're gonna use... try not to do it all or get it on the carpet." I told him as I kissed his cheek. Before walking towards the door grabbing my keys and purse looking back towards Craig who normally would have nose-dived into the dresser for the drugs yet he was still seated looking out at the water.

J had asked me to pick him up at a park not too far from Smurf's place. Once he was in my car I took him to one of those open all night cafes, they were usually empty so whatever he needed to say he could without anyone we knew around to hear. I sat there across from him at the table just looking at him as he just kept staring down at his coffee.

"I know she's still in town, I just didn't want you to get mad at her." He told me as I arched my brow. "I'm mad at her because she's a snake and burnt your uncle's apartment down, the apartment we were giving to Daren." J just seemed to nod.

"Cat... I'm worried about this family. You're like me you aren't apart of it... I just, something isn't right." He told me as I nodded.

"Look; Josh. All I can tell you is you have to choose who you're going to trust in this family. It can't be both Smurf and Baz."

"Can't I just stick with you, Craig and Deran?" He asked as I shook my head. "No. Deran is confused but listens to Pope... who ultimately listens to Baz. Craig listens to me, who listens to Smurf."

"So you follow Smurf?" He asked, "I follow the one less likely to get me killed. Which is Smurf, Baz doesn't know what games he's playing, or who he's playing. He has no idea the mess he is involved in out there in Mexico... but sweety this is not my choice to make for you, just know... Baz... will always choose Baz... and he would choose death, before picking any one of you."
