Chapter 2: Backstory.... yay

Each demon specializes in a certain thing. Some just torture people, some help them, some do both

I am one of those demons that help people

Backstory time!!

I lived as a human, I was happy and in a great relationship

Then it took a turn for the worst

My boyfriend started abusing me, and he wouldn't leave me alone for more than a couple minutes

This continued for a while until I tried to run away since there was a rumor that there was a safe place I could go

My boyfriend caught me, abused me more, then raped me and left me for dead

I thought I was gonna die.... I and would've, but I didn't

A man approached me, how he got into my house I don't know. I was handcuffed to the bed and I couldn't move. I screamed at him to go away and I struggled against the bonds. He kept coming closer and I was scared for my life and sobbing and in pain

He unlocked me from the handcuffs and tossed me some clothes. I was shaking a bit as I put them on and I sat on the bed "Who are you..." I asked, my voice was hoarse from screaming

"That's not important now, but I've come with an offer" the man explained "What offer..." I asked and hugged my knees

The man spoke calmly "I can take you to a better place, one where you'll be safe, and you can get revenge on the man who hurt you, James Reynolds is his name correct?"

I looked up "How do you know about him?" I asked "I take in people like you. It will be ok Maria, I have people that can take care of you. You won't have to go through that ever again"

As you could probably guess, I have MAJOR trust issues and this didn't sound very believable, but I was scared out of my mind and I needed help

"I t-trust you..." I said and he stuck his hand out to me "Do not be afraid, I won't let anyone hurt you"

I took his hand carefully and then we were gone

When I could see again, I noticed we were in a pretty dark place "where are we..." I asked tentatively

"Maria, this may come as a bit of a shock, but you are in hell now" he said calmly

"I... w-what.." he started walking and I ran after him, not wanting to get lost in hell

"You said you would h-help me... why would you bring me here.." I stuck close to him since most of the people, sorry demons, we passed seemed to leave him alone

"Maria this is the best I can do, I can change you into a demon and you'll be immortal and safe here. We demons aren't that bad and our main job is to help suffering humans, except for some people who just like to mess with them" he sighed and I guessed he had some personal experience with that

"I can... be a demon...?" I asked and he nodded "It's your choice, and you can do whatever you want with it" he said

I was about to say something, but 2 demons burst in, both of them yelling at each other

"ALEX HIT ME!!"

"YOU HIT ME FIRST JACKASS!!"

"THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN BURN ME!!"

"OH SHUT UP IT WASN'T THAT BAD!!"

The person I was with face palmed "Alexander and Lafayette, both of you are acting like children" he said sternly and I hid behind him, scared out of my mind even more

"BUT MONSIEUR WASHINGTON ALEX BURNED ME!!"

The demon that spoke had a very thick french accent and I pocked my head out from behind the man, who I guessed was Washington

"LAF STARTED-" the shorter demon with slick dark black started before cutting himself off once he saw me "Whose that??" he asked pointing to me

The french demon with poofy hair tied back in a bun, who I guessed was Lafayette looked at me "Oh hello there mademoiselle" he said kindly

"Laf you have a boyfriend stop flirting with the human" The smaller demon, probably Alexander said before Lafayette punched him, causing the two to fight

Suddenly they were both thrown across the room and I looked up at Washington, who had his arm outstretched "WILL BOTH OF YOU BE QUIET OR TAKE THIS FIGHT ELSEWHERE!?" he yelled at them

The two demons went white and flew off

I couldn't leave so I cowered in the corner

Washington sighed then dropped his hand "I'm sorry you had to see that... those two are a pain, and what's worse is that there are 2 more of them.."

I stopped cowering as much "i-it's ok.... will I be able to do that if I become a demon??" I asked

Washington chuckled softly "Maybe, everyone has a different power set, it just depends"

I nodded and stood up straighter (the most straight thing I will ever do) "I made up my mind, I want to be a demon"

He smiled then grabbed some sort of bowl with a strange liquid in it "Drink this. It will see if you are capable of being a demon. If you are, then it will change you" he explained while I looked at the black liquid

"Well.... here goes nothing.." I said as I downed the drink

I drink alcohol a lot, but this burned at least three times more than the strongest drink I've ever had

I gagged and clawed at my throat, then I felt myself start to change

I felt something grow out of my back and I reached behind and felt something leathery sticking out of my back

I stumbled around the room and eventually found a mirror and looked in it

My eyes which had been red and puffy from crying were now back to their normal brown, though they had a reddish tint to the now

I also had dark red wings growing out of my back and curly horns on my head

I touched them tentatively then ran my hand over them "whoa..."

Washington stood up and I turned to him

He also had the same features that I did, he must have hidden them when we first met

"Congratulations Maria" he smiled and I nodded back

"You won't want to try flying immediately, find someone to help you with that, and as for your powers they will come eventually." he explained while I looked at my wings and tried moving them

"Thank you sir..." I said and smiled a bit

He nodded back to me "Now go meet some people, and trust me, they're much nicer then human stories make us out to be"
