"Mom stop the car!!!!" I yelled loudly
"What's wrong Hal?" She said with concern in her voice
"I left my backpack in Lucas's room!" I said trying remember all the details.
"What were you doing in his room?" she asked raising her eyebrows at me.
"It was his guestroom and nothing happened I swear!" I persuasively said
"Okay what ever you say dear." she said with a bit of sarcasm in her voice.
As my mom put the car in reverse all I could think about was getting my $900 back.

Lucas's POV
As Haliey left the police station my heart became empty as her presence was no longer in the room. I walked out of the police station and to my helicopter.
As I was about to enter the driver's seat a piece of paper billowing in the breeze on the windshield my caught my attention. I took the piece of paper off of the windshield wiper.
My eyes widened as the piece of paper read "TICKET". I've only been gone for 30 minutes to do a good deed and then I get a ticket. I crumpled the piece of paper and threw it on the ground.
"Screw that piece of junk. They can talk to my lawyer if they have any problems." I mumbled to myself as I hopped into the driver's seat and started the helicopter. I sang along with the radio that was playing rock music as my mind drifted off into deep thought.
As I arrived at my safe house I landed the helicopter on top of the roof and went inside. I threw the car keys on the glass table in the living room and plopped down on the white leather couch.
I've only been away from Haliey for about an hour and I can't even stop thinking about her, but something keeps bothering me about what she said when she stated that she went to Lukeman high school.
I got up and walked to a painted canvas of Beethoven and carefully removed it off the wall revealing a secret safe. I entered the 4-digit PIN number on the safe in the wall. The safe beeped and opened up.
I grabbed the yearbooks that were inside and looked for Haliey Goodson's picture. After searching for what seemed like hours I finally found the article that I've been trying to remember for weeks.
"Girl at Lukeman high school proves that a teacher has been stealing money from the school budget." My eyes froze at the headline. Before my father owned his huge company he use to work at Lukeman High school.
My father was the nicest person I knew and I know he would never steal from the school budget, but one day a student (Haliey) in his class wanted to get back at him for giving her a failing grade in the class so she made up some lie that he was stealing money from the school budget, the court believed her and boom just like that she got him arrested.
I dropped the yearbooks in anger. She was the one responsible for my fatherless life all these years. I paced around the room quickly as I plotted revenge to get back at Haliey for all the pain that she has caused for me all these years. As a plan popped into my head I grinned mischievously. Haliey would soon be under my command.

Haliey's POV
As we got to the police station I saw no sign of Lucas or his helicopter anywhere.
"Honey it looks like he left. I don't see him anywhere." My mother stated.
"No he can't leave i need my money i need my backpack i need him!" I said holding in my tears.
"its okay all we can do is hope that he calls the number that i gave him." My mom said calmly.
Just as i walked out of the police station a feeling of pain hit me like a rock in my stomach. I stumbled a little but quickly regained my balanced. I glanced at my mom to see if she noticed the pain I was feeling but she didn't. She went about being a normal single mother in life.
I approached my mom's red car as I did my best to not stagger when i walked. As I reached for the door handle nothing was there. I tried again several times but my hand touched nothing. Okay...That was really weird.
As i tried again a voice startled me.
"Are you okay Haliey?" My mother asked in concern
"Yeah I'm fine i just missed the door handle that's all." I translucently lied
"About a million times." I muttered to myself
"Okay Haliey do you want me to help you?" my mother asked trying to be helpful to this complex situation.
"No thanks. I got it." I said reluctantly.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I inhaled and exhaled deeply allowing nature's fresh air into my somewhat healthy lungs. Okay I can do this. Who would have thought that I would be giving myself motivation to open a car door!
As I opened my eyes I tried again this time I got a hold of the car door and opened it. "Finally!" I said with a puff of air as i plopped down in the passenger's seat
I looked over to my mom who furrowed her brow at my reaction.
"Are you sure you don't need to go to a hospital? Your cheeks are flushed and your sweating a bucket full." My mom said turning into a nurse all of a sudden.
"Yeah I'm fine." I bluntly lied.
"Okay dear, but if you throw up in my car or in the house I will lock you outside you hear me?" She said fiercely
"Yes ma'am." I said rolling my eyes. My eyes widened as I remembered what happened the last time i rolled my eyes. I shuttered at the moment. I turned to my mom to see if she was giving me a death glare but she just focused on the road.
I let out a big sigh of relief. When I get home I'm gonna take a hot shower and probably sleep this madness off.
As i drifted off a question with no answer floated into my mind.
How could I sleep when my money was at someone's house?
