If anyone were to ask how you got into this situation, you really wouldn't have a good answer. Really, how are you supposed to explain that you come from a completely different universe, a different reality. One where there aren't any quirks, or superpowers, or anything like that. And now you're stuck because the machine you used to bounce between realities was broken all to hell and needs to be fixed.
It all started out when your machine created an unstable portal that spit you out into the reality that you had been gunning for, but about a half mile too far off of the ground. A scream ripped it's way out of your throat as you begin careening at high speeds towards what looked like a large city.
You gripped your backpack straps and gasped, attempting to take in air through your panic and the high speed way the wind was pushing on you. This was ridiculous. Was this really the way you were going to die.
A sudden sound of a bomb going off drew your attention back to the ground. Your eyes focused on a trail of smoke and fire, being lead by something that was on a crash course with you. No, not something. Someone. Holy shit.
Before you had any more time to think on the subject, you were being grabbed and whipped around to grab onto the guys shoulders. You quickly wrapped your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck and watched as he slowed both of your descents.
With explosions. From. His. Hands.
Once his feet hit the ground, you peeled yourself off of him with wide eyes and shaking legs.
The man turned to face you, and you took a moment to take in his strange appearance. He was wearing black, green, and orange, and what looked like grenades on his forearms. You looked up into his face, and nearly flinched away. Were those red eyes natural?
"How old are you?"
The question threw you off for a second, but you managed to find your voice rather quickly. "Uh, I'm (age). Listen, I-" You were cut off by the guy.
"So, you're (age), and can't even control your quirk? What the hell."
His gruff, angry voice was starting to piss you off, as well as his terrible bedside manner. "Control my what?" You asked, annoyance seeping into your tone.
"What are you, deaf?" He went from annoyed to angry in a second. "Your quirk."
"What the hell is a quirk?" You asked, your curiosity now piqued. Was a 'quirk' something unique to this reality? This is why you were here, after all. "Is it alright if I ask you a couple of questions?" You cut the man off in his visible confusion. "This may be weird, but I promise I'll explain."
The promise of some sort answers seemed to be good enough for him. After all, your reaction to something that must be commonplace in his world probably piqued his interest as well.
He turned to another person who was in what looked like a superhero costume. "Take her to my office and keep an eye on her until I get back." With that, the blond man stomped away, leaving you with a nervous looking Brown haired guy.
You pulled a pen and a pocket sized notebook out of your jeans pocket. You were amazed and greatful that they were still there, to be honest. "Hello there!" You grinned at him. "What's your name?"
"Heh. My name is Martin. What your name?"
You quickly introduced yourself, and then asked, "Do you mind answering some questions while we walk?"
"Not at all, ask away." Martin gave you a small, crooked smile.
"Thanks." You smiled back. "So, that angry blond man said something about 'quirks'. What is a quirk, exactly?"
