The murder of Elizabeth Short or known as The black Dahlia- On the day of January 15, 1947 a mother was taking her child to get her shoes repaired when they noticed the body of a young naked woman sliced clean in half at the waist. The mother immediately called the police and left the sight with her child. The body was just a few feet from the sidewalk and posed in such a way that the mother reportedly thought it was a mannequin at first glance..Despite the extensive mutilation and cuts on the body, there wasn't a drop of blood at the scene, indicating that the young woman had been killed elsewhere..The young woman turned out to be  22-year-old  Elizabeth Short And later nicknamed the Black Dahlia. Short's prints actually appeared twice in the FBI's massive collection, first because she had applied for a job as a clerk at the commissary of the Army's Camp Cooke in California in January 1943; second, because she had been arrested by the Santa Barbara police for underage drinking seven months later. The police also had her "mug shot" in its files and provided it to the press. Police later took George Hodel as a suspect, and later taking scent dogs to his house and ended up finding some of Elizabeth's blood. police did a search of his house placing secret recorders around his house and got some recorded messages  here is what George said:"They'll never find out, why? Because they cant talk to my secretary because she's dead." George later moved to the Philippines and later Police found another dead body drained of blood in a parking lot close to Georges home. George was never put in prison and they still need to find the killers.  If you want to help police the case is still open.

Murder of the Grime sisters- On January 22, 1957 a construction worker named Leonard Prescott spotted what he later described as being "these flesh-colored things" behind a guard rail as he drove along a rural country road. Joseph Lohman, the Cook County Sheriff who strongly believed the Grime sisters had been beaten, tortured and murdered by a sexual predator who had lured them into a vehicle on the evening of their disappearance They went missing in December 28,1956. Their Mother called for a missing persons police report that would soon become the longest missing persons report in Chicago history. The mother of the two teens became worried because they didn't return home after seeing a Elvis Presley's show called "Love Me Tender" that ended at 2:15 am.  The sisters bodies were found on January 22,1957. The mother of the two children got a call claiming that he killed her daughters, the police had no luck tracking him down. About a year after the Grimes sisters were killed, a 15 year old girl named Bonnie Leigh Scott was murdered in another part of Illinois. After that murder occurred, Mrs. Grimes received another phone call, a phone call she said was from the same man who had bragged to her about killing her daughters. The man bragged about killing Scott and then bragged about killing the Grimes girls. Bennie Bedwell ended up weaving a complicated story that culminated in his confession to the murders. Witnesses reported seeing Bedwell with the Grimes sisters at a local restaurant he sometimes worked at two days after they disappeared. The waitresses at the restaurant said that Bedwell and a male friend of his came in to the restaurant early in the morning with two teenage girls who fit the description of the Grimes sisters Bennie wasn't convicted of murder he stayed a free man. days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and soon the Grime family gave up on the case leaving the murder of the Grime sisters a unsolved mystery.

The unsolved murders of cabin 28- This quadruple homicide took place in Keddie, California on the evening of April 11, 1981, The bodies of Glenna Sue Sharp, 36; her son John, 15; and his friend Dana,17, were all found dead in cabin 28. The younger  daughter Tina (12) was reported missing. Her body was found three years later, miles away from Cabin 28. The cabin in which the families were found was demolished in 2008. Sue, John, and Dana's bodies had been left, sprawled across the floor. A search of the premises revealed the trio of younger boys still in their room, alive and unharmed. With the help of neighbors, Sheila removed the three children. The three victims found in the cabin had met a violent end.Their bodies were bound with medical tape and appliance wire; they had been stabbed, bludgeoned, and strangled to death. Examinations revealed that the victims suffered blows from at least two different hammers of varying sizes,Sue and John had been stabbed repeatedly. Sue had also been bludgeoned with a Daisy Powerline 880 rifle, while Dana Wingate was strangled to death by hand. Sue was discovered lying on her side by the living room couch and was nude from the waist down. She had also been gagged with a blue bandana and her own panties—they had been secured on her face with medical tape. Her wrists and ankles were also bound with medical tape and two rounds of electrical wire. There was also wire that tied her ankles together—her ankles and wrists were tied so tightly that her legs and knees were drawn toward each other. She had been covered with a blanket and sheet that belonged to Tina. Johnny's hands were placed on his abdomen and taped tightly at the wrists with medical tape. His ankles were wrapped twice and tightly knotted with an extension cord. Dana had also been bound with medical tape. The cabin was found with no forced entry, detectives were able to recover an unidentified fingerprint from a handrail that led to the cabin's back door. Detectives also discovered that the telephone had been left off the hook and the lights had been shut off with all the drapes fully closed.  Various weapons were found at the scene, including a table knife, a butcher knife, and a bloody hammer. Other weapons—including the Daisy rifle—were not recovered. Some evidence, such as a second bloody knife, turned up in a trash bin behind the Keddie general store, in interviews, Justin Smartt told detectives that he had dreamt details of the murder only to later confirm that he had actually witnessed it. Under hypnosis, Justin claimed that he had seen Sue with two men: one with a mustache and long hair and one clean-shaven with short hair. John and Dana then entered the home and began arguing with the men. The argument became violent. The three were still alive when Tina entered the room. One of the men took her out the back door, before coming back to kill Sue, John, and Dana. In April of 1984, three years after the slayings occurred, part of a skull was found 29 miles away near Camp Eighteen in neighboring Butte County. The discovery prompted a thorough examination of the area, revealing a jawbone and several other bones. The fragments were eventually determined to belong to young Tina. They still haven't found the two men leaving this case, Unsolved
