Chapter 5 - The Rules and No Sleep

"Why not? I love sleeping, and who are you to stop me from sleeping!? You're not the boss of me." I cross my arms over my chest and stare at Trent, daring him to stare back.

"If you sleep while you're here, you'll never awake from your nightmare." He stares back and mimics my stance.

"Woah, back it up. What did you just say?" I look at him with wide eyes but gain my composure in a matter of seconds.

"I said, if you sleep here you will never wake up from your nightmare."

"How do you know I've been having nightmares?"I say with a raised eyebrow

"Because that's why you're here." He mumbles, thinking that I can't hear him.

"What!?"

"Nothing. I didn't say anything." He says a little too quickly.

"Yes you did you said I'm here because of my nightmare."

"Yeah okay, fine whatever, just don't fall asleep."

"Again. Why can't I sleep!? It's pretty normal for a person to want to sleep isn't it?" I go back to having my arms crossed.

"Yes, but you're no normal person." He states.

"What's that supposed to mean? Who do you think you are just coming in here and telling me that I'm not normal!! You have no idea who I am and what I've been through, you have no right to accuse me of not being normal!"

"You'll get a full explanation when we are out of here, follow my lead, okay?"

Why does this guy, whoever he thinks he is, get to come in here and give me orders like he's some kind of god? People nowadays. Ugh

"Why should I? You've been nothing but a big meanie baby"

"Thanks for that." Trent says very sarcastically. "But seriously do you want to get out of this horrid place?"

"Yeah, of course. Who wouldn't?"

"Right. So follow my lead!"

"Fine."
I say really monotone and boring, because who wants to listen to a freaking jerk who thinks he's king. I perk up after a little bit though and ask what we're doing, maybe in a voice that is a little too chirpy because Trent rolls his eyes at me, and ignores my question.
