"Fine, fine, fine, fine!" Lenny caved in, throwing one arm up to shove the pestering thorn in his side away. He ignored the cheers that rang following his defeat, deciding instead to bury his head into his pillow and wish the world away. He'd never been a morning person.

Dustin wanted to bike to school instead of being dropped off. Something about Lucas wanting his morning buddy back. It was always Lucas that Dustin used as an excuse, because Lucas was the one that Lenny took to most from his friend's band of friends. Will, too, but the Byers kid was quiet and barely interacted with Lenny. The fondness came from Will being Jon's brother.

The morning dragged after being awoken to Dustin breathing down his ear. He'd waved the boy away from the front, both bidding their Mother goodbye, before hopping into his truck and running a hand down the side of his face.

The cigarette was placed between his lips and lit, before driving from his home and in the direction of school. Going past Dustin, he slowed down considerably and stuck a hand out, shaking his head when Dustin pedalled closer and high-fived him.

"Get your ass to school!" Lenny called out the window.

Dustin groaned, a loud boy with a big mouth, "Stop smoking!"

Allowing the boy to bike to school wasn't something that Lenny felt entirely comfortable with. Though the pull of his heartstrings at Lucas wanting Dustin had worked, as Dustin predicted. Not that Lenny had never offered to drive Lucas, because he had, many a times before, but something about Lucas's Father had been the reasoning of no.

Turning up the music, he took a drag of what Dustin deemed his doom and pressed his foot down. Only when he neared his school did he flick the cigarette out of the window and turned into the parking lot, immediately heading the way of his usual space. Right up the front of the school, near where Jon usually parked.

People turned their heads as he got out, something he'd long mastered ignoring. Though that didn't dim the annoyance that swirled in his chest at their huddled whispers, even if giggles and flamed cheeks came along with it. He wasn't against attention, he thought he was rather well and true with gathering it and he'd gotten used to that, but there were times it rubbed him the wrong way.

His bag swung loosely with the grip he had on it, his other hand bringing up his packet of cigarettes with his teeth tugging one out. When he shoved it back into his pocket, he did the same with his lighter before removing the cigarette from his mouth.

"Nice to see you, Lenny!"

Looking toward whoever called for him, a small crack of a smile appeared for a brief second as he acknowledged the greeting before walking around the back of his truck and heading toward his best friend's awaiting figure. Jonathan slung his bag strap over his shoulder, waiting by his own car for him.
