The year is 3023. I was one of the lucky ones to survive, ha! If you could even call it luck. I fought my way out till there was blood, sweat, and tears exerting from my body. LOTS OF BLOOD. I didn't think the world would come to this, I mean the world was in hysterics from these...things. Ravenous and blood-thirsty. I didn't look back as I ran that day. I remember it like it was yesterday... I was wearing a yellow cardigan, striped shirt, blue jeans, and Toms on my feet. I was driving home minding my own business when I felt my car lurch back. There was a thump on my car. I thought I was going crazy when I didnt see anything, then I saw it. I screamed and swerved, just barely skimming the car in front of me. All the cars on the road either stopped mid-drive or ran into eachother. People were freaking out as swarms of them came towards us. We were running around like maniacs, people losing their minds as these creatures grabbed at us. I made a run for it, but didn't get farther than less than half a mile as I was gripped around the ankle by a cold, bony hand. I felt my cheek collide with the hot asphalt, slightly burning as I was tripped from the force of the pull. I kicked and thrashed around as I was being dragged to an unknown place. Looking around I caught sight of my fellow citizens, and it seemed like time slowed down as I watched them struggle for their lives. I felt something trickled down my face, recognising it as sweat and tears I didn't know I had produced. Something shiny and red had created a line down the road and I reached down realizing blood was trickling down my stomach, getting left on the road. I started to feel pieces of my flesh being scraped off along the rough asphalt since my shirt had ridden up, while they dragged me along. I was tugged along harder by the bony hand, and more blood came rushing out my stomach as my legs grazed the road. Making a split second decision wasn't easy. A car was coming up on my left and if I could just...yes! I latched my arm around the tire and broke free from its grasp. Wasting no time, I jumped to me feet and scanned the area for a weapon .I noticed a rifle in someone's abandoned car from when they crashed, and reached into the back seat grabbing the rifle, checking for ammo. Lucky there was, so I took aim and fired at one of monsters, hitting it straight in the head. As I was shooting I felt an arm wrap around my waist, and a hand cover my mouth. I screamed into the hand that was preventing me from making noise. It started dragging me away, tightening it's grip. It released it's hand from my mouth, but just as quickly replaced it around my throat, squeezing slightly. It kept applying more and more pressure and I was losing oxygen. I felt myself going down... and then I fell to the floor released from its captivity. I looked up, the sun blinding me and found a man around my age standing above me. His lips were moving, but I heard nothing. Then everything became dizzy. I slowly got up, noticing the monsters were still around. The guy was still talking but I took off running when I saw one of the creatures heading our way, and I never looked back.
