Chapter 2

Gridlock’s POV

I arrived in hell with the little bitch that one upped me. I was never going to live this down. How the hell did it happen? I have always been able to scent mutts and leeches. Yet even now as we stand here, her scent is masked to me. I look her up and down, trying to make out why. But Morgana, vanished her to hell. She must know more than I do.

I left her filled with anger. When I got home, I was met with the unexpected. Morgana was blowing things up left and right. What the hell put her panties in a bunch? I got a little worried that she would be mad at me. My failures reflect directly on her. Since she is and has been the one showing me how to use my powers. She didn’t want the original warlock to train me.

I walked in slowly hoping not to get noticed. But no such luck. She aimed her fire ball at me and I felt my eye brows and eye lashes scorch off. “What the hell Morgana.” I yell as I make them reappear. I was ready to retaliate, but it was then that it hit me. Her smell, I found myself inhaling again. I had to be wrong, what the hell.

“Holy shit, shit, you found him?” I scream out in surprise. That only earned me another fire ball blown my way. Luckily I blocked it this time.

“Shut up, shut up.” She screamed as I walked over to her and smelled the air.

“Oh damn, it’s a leech smell attached to you. Your partner is a leech?” I asked as my jaw dropped open. When the hell did she see a leech? Holy shit “it was one of the ones in the cemetery.” Morgana fell to her knees crying.

I sat down on the floor next to her. “It’s not the end of the world. You knew that as witches and warlocks. Our partners would be anything.” I shrugged “a leech isn’t that bad.”

She turned to look at me with anger “are you fucking joking. Grandfather would be turning in his grave if he knew.”

“I don’t see why. He was partnered with grandmother who was a fairy. So where is he? What’s his name? What does he look like?”  I asked all excited for her.

She shrugged her shoulders “I ran away. I have no idea where he is nor do I care.” She pouted.

I frowned “well you should. You know that until you mate you can’t be far from him. You know the pain it will cause you. Not to mention the loss of power. He must be closer than you think, or you would not be so calm.” She shrugged again.

I smirked at her as I went and looked in the mirror. “I’ll keep my eyes on him for you” I say and start to laugh as I extend my arm and open my hand showing her my eyes balls.

“You are such a child Gridlock. Put those back in their sockets.” She started to pace back and forth as her mind went a million miles a second. “I think you are on to something. I do want you to tail him. So I will always be within range. But I don’t want him to find me yet.”

I glare at her. Why was I reduced to baby sitter now? “I don’t think so.”

“Listen and listen well. Finding my partner was supposed to be the happiest time of my life. Thanks to your stupidity in getting almost killed by that leech. I am not able to be happy yet. I know I have to eventually accept him. But I have a job to do here on earth. I also need more information on him. So you my dear brother are keeping an eye on him.”

I muttered under my breath and she flicked her finger sending me flying through the air. I hit the back wall and fell to the ground. I landed with a hard thud. “Damn you Morgana.” I said getting up and sending a power ball her way. But since she knows more than I do, she easily side stepped. Now there is a hole in the wall. I laughed until I noticed it was the wall for my bedroom.

“Get going” she said and then touched my head giving me images of the dude. But along with the images came the hurt she feels. I frowned.

“Morgana, those are warrior tattoos. They are not conquest tattoos.” She was jealous? I almost laughed but I’m not stupid. I shimmered away, before she retaliated again.

Morgana’s POV

I closed my eyes and pulled up His image. But I could not make them out as clearly as Gridlock did. So crap, I turned into a black cat and shimmered to where he was. “His name is Charger, and it looks like someone told him about the tattoos sis. Look closely and you will see, they have all been removed.  Looks to me like you already have him whipped.” He smirked as he rubbed my head. I bit his finger and shimmered back home.

I could not help the smile that crossed my lips. Hmm, Charger………

I shook my head to clear it. First and for most, I have a job to do as angel of death. I have to collect 200 souls. Once my job was done, I could then be free of my punishment. But for now, I went to my pastime that always seems to calm me down. I went through the door leading to my shop.  I think I will create a batch of devil’s food cake, some pineapple upside down cakes.  I flicked my finger and the scrumptious creations appeared.

Each one was done with a special incantation. One for love, one for removing a person from your path. The coconut cream pie would make whoever ate it gain 30 pounds. I smiled, as I kept on creating. Soon my doors will open and I would get to judge the people that entered my bakery. I love giving each and every person exactly what they need. It’s ashamed this earth is filled with so much hate and envy. But I will make them all pay.

Just as I would also make love blossom and match make. That part I love. Some people just need that little push to be happy. “Yeah, try eating one of your love spell cakes yourself, big sis.”  I heard gridlock say through mind link. I growled in anger then closed my eyes.

“By the power of all that surrounds me” I say them mutter the words to send a lightning bolt his way. I smirk when I hear his screaming in my mind. That will teach him.
