"Bedtime Johnny!" Mother said. Oh how I hated those words. Bedtime. Mother said I was to old to be tucked, and to old to have a night light! Me? To old, I am only six and a half, not old at all! How does she expect me to spend a night in the dark? Besides, she does not want the boogey man to get me.
Mother says he is all in my head... Its all just my whacky imagination. Boy is she wrong! The boogey man is EVIL. Horrible. He is tall and slender. He looks like a man, but was not human like at all. I have seen him before; ocassionaly in my dreams. He has pale green skin. And two large eyes, both bright red with slits down them. His face is rough and scratchy. He lacks much eyebrows, and any facial hair at all. Being incredibally bald all over. Worst of all, is the fact he has NO NOSE. And a freaky smile which spreads towards both ends of his face.
"I SAID BEDTIME! Why are you still up?" Mum said. I hugged her tightly.
"Its the bogey man mummy! He will get me without my lava lamp, he is scared of the light."
"Oh John Bear, not with the silly stories again. The boogey man is not real."
"Yes he is! I saw him mummy, I promise."
"Oh John, please just stop" her voice started growing more stern, and her eyes gave me the look of disappointment.
"Mummy, please! He will get me if you leave-"
"Johnny when will you grow up? Just last week you embarassed me in front of all my colleuges at work! What was it? The wolfman?"
"I know, I know. But, the boogey man is even worst! PLEASE LISTEN TO-"
"JOHNNY GO TO BED!" She screamed. "Sometimes I wonder why I even bother? You never learn! This door is to be closed all night, and the light shall be off. Dont you dare disobey me, or else. Now night."
She switched of the light, and slammed the door. Now I really was in trouble. He has been summoned. The boogey man is coming.
