Flipped upside down

The story of how it all began

It was my first day of kindergarten I didn't want to go. I didn't have any friends here, my mom said we were going on a trip but I didn't think we would end up staying especially since we left without dad. My mom got me dressed into new clothes and took me to this new school everything was just new I didn't like new I wanted my old stuff back. As soon as we got to the school my mom walked me to my classroom door and said her goodbyes after she left I just sat there and watched all the other kids play.

The school bell rang and I stood up and waited to enter the classroom. All the kids went running to their classrooms. I felt so overwhelmed that I moved to a tree nearby and waited till the door opened. All these kids were looking at me some of them stopped and started talking to the person beside them but one kid just wouldn't stop he took a step towards me even but the door opened and we all went inside. Once inside I was introduced to the class and then told where I was going to sit. Once I sat down I looked around at the people who were in the rest of the chairs at the table one of them was that kid.

When the lunch bell rang and everyone went outside I went to the tree and the boy followed me he sat near me and started talking about how he wanted to be my friend and that his name was Brody and how he wasn't going to leave me alone until I talked to him. Since he gave me his name it was only polite of me to give mine as well after this awkward interaction we started talking more and after 2 weeks he got me to abandon my spot at the tree and actually walk around with him.

This wasn't so bad me and brody went everywhere together at school and after school it was just the matter of whose house to go to not that we lived that far from each other. As the years went on and new school years started and ended we made sure that every year we would meet at the tree so we can catch up with what we couldn't express on social media. And all of this started because he said hi.
