ENTRY 4.I: HOSEOK
December 13, 2007: 14:42
Gwangju, South Korea
Multitudes of kids stood crowded within the courtyard of the school, aching to get a front row seat in the action. The December cold didn't seem to bother any of them because they were so close together, almost like sheep in a barn. The reason for all of this? A fight had started there in the grass not to long ago; two boys had began roughing it up in front of the tree within the middle of the courtyard, attracting this huge crowd despite it was so cold out that day. Teachers that had been previously shifting classrooms were in this mix, too, attempting to push their way though the eager pile of kids so as to get to the middle and break up the fight before anything catastrophic happened. These kids seemed so intrigued by the action as if they'd never seen a school fight before (which everyone in that crowd had at least once).Hoseok and Ruyoung just happened to have been walking through the courtyard over to a hallway on the other side of the grass when it started, giving them a front row view of the fight, and just like everyone else around them, they were easily intrigued. They stood there laughing as they watched, but they weren't laughing at the fight. They were laughing at each other, Hoseok having been commentating the fight as if it were some sort of televised sports event.
"Hunsong swings..." Hoseok said excitedly with anticipation. "OH, and he strikes Saebeom square on! What a move!"
"Look at that!" Ruyoung laughed. "His nose is bleeding!"
Ruyoung was right. Sure enough, as Saebeom lifted his head after the impact, his nose began dripping blood onto his uniform blazer and the frozen grass beneath him. He wiped it off with a scowl and continued fighting back at Hunsong.
"He looks done!" Hoseok replied, now also laughing. "Hunsong got him good!"
"Yeah he does!"
Sure, Saebeom had been defeated at that point, but even with Hunsong's apparent victory, he wasn't going to end up leaving clean, either. His left eye looked to have been beginning to swell, having had a blow there not too long before Saebeom's nosebleed.
After the blood had appeared was when the teachers that had been struggling to get through to the middle managed to succeed, quickly breaking up the fight.
"You all have somewhere to be!" one of them yelled out through the crowd. "Fight's over! Go to where you're supposed to go! Mr. Choi, Mr. Yang, you're coming with me."
A majority of the crowd had broken after the command and after the two boys were guided out, leaving the people that were still on break in the courtyard, Hoseok and Ruyoung included. Their break had been just coming to an end though—having been wasted on watching the fight—which was why they had been previously walking towards the east hallway before their attention was locked into the action.
"Do you know what they were fighting about?" Hoseok asked Ruyoung as they walked.
"Nope, not at all, and I don't know if I really have an interest in finding out."
Hoseok nodded with a downwards gaze.
"It's not like it's something that's affecting me or anything," he continued. "Besides, whatever it was, I'm sure they'll work it out eventually."
Ruyoung was a humble kid, extremely mature in a sense for someone his age, so he never did like to get into anyone else's business. He wasn't one to be interested in gossip or inside details.
"Well, I'm still pretty curious," Hoseok laughed. "Genuinely, I'm still really wondering what it possibly could've been that they had to make such a scene over."
Expecting any kind of response from Ruyoung, Hoseok awaited an answer to his statement, but never got one.
"Ruyoung-ah?"
