Those damn words keep echoing in my head. Argh! What do they mean? I want to 'what' somebody? Ugh. I need to wake up.

Kokichi quickly threw out his thought, opening his deep, purple eyes weakly against the strong rays of sun that shone through his window, Kokichi pushed himself up with his sore arm. The pain had shot up through his arm though, and he collapsed back into the bouncy confines of his bed. His alarm blared soon after, piercing his ears and earning a loud groan of annoyance.

"Nnnn...I don't wanna wake up..." He reached weakly towards the disturbance with his poor eyesight that was packaged in with his hazy body state and clogged mind.

But he still sat up anyway, rubbing his eyes as they began to focus on his surroundings. He barely registered the dried drool on the side of his mouth or his messy bed hair, only making an effort to push himself off the bed and head to the bathroom where his uniform was hung. Blinking wearily at the clothes, he thought about how he'd ironed it at almost midnight last night. He laughed a little at himself for doing something that idiotic, then got dressed. He stripped himself of the over-sized white shirt that hung off his figure and his shorts, quickly putting on his dark purple shirt.

He slipped his pants on too, turning around after to look in the mirror. Only them did he real the crappy state he was in, grabbing a brush to hopefully tame the mess that was his hair. It did little to comb down the long spikes of hair he had on either side of his head, but his hair was much better now. Bending down, Kokichi switched on the tap and splashed the cold water that came out of it onto his face.

Quickly washing away any other junk, he wiped his face and looked up to the mirror. I still look like shit, he thought. Looking away from the mirror, he simply walked out of the bathroom and to his cabinet where he took a pair of socks from and slipped them on. After doing this, he walked over to his kitchenette where he searched through the cabinets for some decent food to cook. There was nothing, much to his dismay. Although he had located some bread to toast, nothing special for a normal person but a meal for Kokichi.

The real reason he was in his current state was because his parents cut off his funding, and he was forced to rely on his unstable uncle for pay. He ended up paying Kokichi $50 a week, barely enough to pay for his food and apartment bills combined. But he never thought back to that, it's not good to dwell on the past right now, he would tell himself.

And he never thought about the past, never revealed his financial situation to the few friends he had. And in return, they never asked, which was a breath of fresh air of Kokichi since he didn't want anyone to loom over him and ask him about his situation constantly. But now, it just brought him back to the thought of the cashier yesterday.

"Hm. He kind of looked like the hat boy." Pulling out his toaster, he slapped himself. "Heh, probably too much of a stretch to be him, probably just a nice stranger." After he stopped talking to himself, he shoved the plug of the toaster into the socket, turned it on and put two pieces of the lucky bread he'd found into the overworked appliance.

Turning on the TV, it automatically tuned into Danganronpa, and he just decided to watch for the fun of it. Or not.

The camera swirled around the room flawlessly, gliding past the pictures of prior students that had crosses messily scrawled upon them. The 3 final protagonists all collectively shook with fear, even if it was an act they all looked petrified. The class trial seemed like it was coming to a close, the trio about to vote for the killer.

A short boy with white hair and yellow eyes spoke through the silent debate, seeming to place his bets on the girl who stood across from him. She had long, orange hair that came down to about her waist and curled at the ends, and her eyes were a bright red.

"You being the killer seems like the most logical conclusion. The blood splatters found on another piece of your clothing found indicates that!"

Nao yelled towards the end of his sentence, accusing her of the crime that was committed. The girl's face was red from breathing heavily after her yelling fit that Kokichi had missed, but she was arguing back nevertheless.

"Why do you still go on about me being the killer? Shigeo hasn't spoken this whole debate!" She hissed through clenched teeth, pointing at the boy who was shaking in the far corner of the hall. Before Shigeo could speak, Nao raised his hand and blocked him. "I already ruled his alibi out of the possible murder! Open your filthy ears, Kaora!" Nao spat at the girl, growling slightly.

Before she could hit him with another false statement, Monokuma spoke.

"Puhuhu! This seems to be getting boring. How sad!"

The trio looked up at the best, ceasing their chatter.

"Since it's gotten this boring, I'll just make it voting time already ~! Puhuhu! Now, please place your votes. You do know how it works right?"

Nao growled at the bear. They weren't done discussing, and he probably ended his conclusions on the wrong note. As the screen lit up, he hesitantly moved his cursor to where Shigeo smiled happily in his portrait.

Should I vote for him?

Whisking the thought away, he pressed on the button and the screen flashed back to its original black. Looking up carefully, he watched as Monokuma prepared the results.

"O~k! Now it's time to show the results!" He chanted happily, watching as the large screen came down from above him. Nao shut his eyes.

I'm sorry Shigeo, for voting for you. I've probably got it wrong.

Opening his eyes, Nao saw the vote tally.

Underneath their names, he counted up the numbers. His eyes widened as tears threatened to spill over.

Nao - 0
Shigeo - 2
Kaora - 1

"Congratulations. You got it right..." Shigeo's weak voice came from his corner of the hall, holding onto his rails for support as he cried.

"I never meant to kill her! It was the worst accident of my life. If only I could've died earlier on in the game-! This wouldn't have happened!" He sobbed heavily, hands over his eyes as he cried in shame.

"Shigeo..." Nao wanted to hug him, comfort him. It was an accident, and he was going to give his life for the punishment. It wasn't fair. They said they were going to see the outside world together.

Kaora simply looked away as she blinked back tears in her stand.

The camera focused on in Monokuma's face. "Well well well! What a plot twist. The innocent boy, Shigeo Kusai was the killer. Puhuh. Come back after the break to see his 'Ultimate punishment!'"

-

The TV cut off, and Kokichi was left shaking. What kind of show was that? Who would even join? It looked like pure torture, despair, pain. He felt the worst for Shigeo, too. He seemed so innocent.

Shutting off the TV, he went to grab his school bag.

Too much for one day, I suppose.
