Prologue: The one who lives.

As she fell to the floor of the spacious dungeon, she thinks to herself, where did everyone go? Why was she being the one who was punished? Where was Alakai? Her twin.

She glanced up at the giant piece of blood splattered steel that was coming down for her. Quickly she rolled to her side dodging the attack. Her heart pounding she rose to her feet ant turned toward the man. His blade now chipping away from the cold cobblestone.

Suddenly a sense of adrenaline and hunger for blood rose over her. She began to stumble toward the man. He looked over and laughed.

"You think this war is over?!" He shouted. "As long as our kingdom stands you will live with the guilt, pain, and greif that you gave yourself."

She chuckled at those words. She grabbed him by the shoulder and threw him out through the iron bars with such force that he burst out infront of the army that was waiting for her outside. She jumped out after him.

The captain stepped forward, his iron clad horse standing at his side.

"So you finally come out of hiding, One Who Lives."

She smiled an evil smile. "I have a name. One that has more power than your ten thousand men!"

"Oh really? Then what shall I call you oh wretched demon?"

She walked up close enough to feel his hoarse breath on his face. "Alena, Alena The Dark One."

He laughed a hearty laugh. Alena's teeth gritted. She backed up and hollered; "Behold what true power is."

She streched her arms out and a storm of darkness and bats engulphed her body. When they cleared, what was left didn't look like alena at all. The beast had dragon's wings of black fire, one eye black, the other one red, she had the horns of a demon and the claws of a lion. She stared at the man who she threw out the window.

"My father was right." She said. "You weren't one to trust. But no, I didn't listen. And now you've killed my parents and kidnapped my brother!"

"KILL THE MONSTER!" Screamed the captain.

The knights and soldiers all charged towards Alena trying to claim her life but instead, having their lives claimed by her. One by one the warriors fell to her fists and her sheer force. Then it was ten by ten. She gained momentum and when only the captain stood, he looked at her in fear the terror was unreal. All his men dead within 30 minutes. Thousands of men with wives and children brought down in one move. He kept his ground. The pudgy captain in his armor resembled one of Alana's childhood puppets, one that was nothing but ashes left behind but the fire. Alone on the scorched ground of her old home. The fury in her eyes was shadowed by joy when she saw the captain shaking uncontrollably. He trudged forward and raised his sword with an unsteady hand and struggled out two questions:

"W-what kind of monster are you? When will you die?!"

She pushed him to the ground and stared at him defiantly. "I will never die. I was blessed with the darkness, like my brother. We will walk the earth for meleniums and when the earth is no more, We'll search in the darkness for a new world.'' She looked up at all the fallen bodies. "We are Nightmares. The devil's worst fear as well as his spawn. We embrace the darkness. We make blood fall to survive, and when there is no more blood to spill, we will roam the earth. For Eternity."
