Never known you had it so bad

Never knew I'd do you so right

Never felt this feeling so fast

Never knew it was worth the sacrifice

"Can you tell me what's wrong?"

After grabbing my last textbook I shut my locker revealing Nick standing there with his arms crossed, he spoke with confusion but he clearly was annoyed with how I have been ignoring him after the Dalton incident at my house last night.

I took a deep sigh shifting my head towards him, "You really want to know?"

He looked around sheepishly before nodding his head, "Well yeah."

"Think about what happened last night at my house, how you behaved, especially towards-"

"If you want me to apologize for fending myself from that hairy beast then no."

I rose an eyebrow, I was not about to take his shit today. I slid my on my back and began to walk away. Halfway through the hallway, I could hear him yell for me, "Knight, c'mon."

I don't want to admit it, but he was right yesterday about how it is all fucked that I am letting Dalton get closer to me, however, they both tried to harness my power by killing me. The whole situation is messy already, I have been lied to my life and now I have basically been told to stay alive now that I know everything. I guess my family was trying to protect me from this world. The catch is that they waited until I got kidnapped to tell me. Yeah, everyone made some really poor choices.

"See you later, I guess."

I heard a familiar voice coming from the side of the hall. It was Tiana, she was walking towards her locker after talking to her other friends. It made me realize that everyone made some poor choices recently, I did too when I yelled at one of the only friends I had. It is just hard to get past the fact that she became my friend for my protection, maybe that is why she would ask to hang a lot. She looks like she knows what she is doing, especially with all this weird paranormal activity happening. Unlike Nick, I can actually see what is wrong with my actions and do something about it.

I slowly approached her at the locker, she managed to catch a glance of me walking to her before looking away awkwardly. By the time I reached her she was bending down to grab some of her books, avoiding eye contact.

I let out a monotone, but concerned "Hey,"

"Hi," she did not bother to look up towards me.

"Look, Tiana, I am really sorry for how I acted towards you the other day. I didn't know how to digest what happened, it felt like I have been lied to all my life. I understand that you were just doing your job, it just felt really shitty hearing it for the first time."

She stops for a minute before taking a deep breath, "Knight, I should be the one apologizing to you. I would be mad too if I found out all the things that happened to you."

I leaned against the other lockers. "Yeah, you're still my friend despite me being one of your assignments."

"In my defense, I was going to tell once you decided you want to hang out with me outside school. On your birthday I was going to tell you everything once we went out for coffee. I even picked you up from your house when I knew you weren't going to come, but then-"
