Who knew Andy could be so doting? It was adorable at first how he hovers over me, now it’s just irritating.

“Andy, stop worrying, you are going to get gray hair before you hit your thirties.” I watched him get dressed for work. “The doctor said I would make a full recovery in two weeks time, that’s just a couple more days.”

The bruises had faded to an ugly yellowish color while my ankle was perfectly healed, still, he didn’t need to know the latter.

“What time is your appointment?” He asked while I clicked my tongue at him. “Ten in the morning but you will be working on that day.”

“I could call in sick.”

“No, you will not,” I shot down his offer. “You are not going to miss work because of me.”

“I don’t want anything to happen to you.” He caresses my face and I placed my hand on top of his. “I am tough as nails, it’s going to take a lot to take me down.”

“I love you.”

My eyes soften at his sweet claim. “I know, I love you too.”

Andy had to cover a double shift, I knew he was doing it because of me. The first few days after being discharged, Andy took a couple of days off to tend to me, and now that I was better, he had to pick up the missed work.

I heard the lock shifting in to place before emptiness filling the room.

I fell back on to the couch with a sigh. My eyes dropping, I had nothing to do. Player Hazel was out of commission, player Uno had become boring without her partner, like a bitch chasing her own tail, funny at first then it was just sad.

Vincent Skylar was nowhere to be found, neither was his wife. Probably went on a nice vacation to the Caribbean.

“Dude got it all backward.” I have no idea what is going on with that guy. If we were playing tennis, he would most likely show up with a bowling ball.

I wiggled my toes, admiring the cute kitten socks covering them. “I should go shopping.” Andy can’t cook, and I was tired of takeout’s, besides I needed a new phone since I got rid of my last one.

“Maybe later,” I yawned, deciding to go back to sleep, it was still too early anyway.

                                                                        +++++++++++++++

It was just too early for this kind of bullshit.

“Alright pal, watch your head.” The guy doesn’t even have the faintest idea where he was or what was he doing as Nick shoved him into the backseat.

“Drunk son of a bitch, better not throw up all over the back,” Andy grumbled. His mood has been shit the whole week, and everyone noticed it too.

“Man, your girlfriend needs to get better soon, cause I liked you better when you were getting laid.” Nick joked, trying to lighten the mood, but Andy was not listening. “I swear someone is out to get my girl.”

“Like who? Vincent Skylar? You know, now that you mentioned it, she does fit the profile. Super ninja assassin mafia killer.” Andy sent his friend an annoyed glare. “He did put out a hit for the guy, tripled the reward. Half a mill.”

It was a lot of money.

The first week of the hit, bodies were dropping left and right, those who bragged about committing the deed got their tongue and their dick chopped off, after that it was just a blind stabbing in the dark.
