THATCHER CALLOWAY KNEW VERY little about his parents. And maybe that was for the better, for his sake. They had died mysteriously and suddenly, and no one really knew how they had been killed. But Thatcher was on 6 years old when it happened. Little did he know how popular his mother's name was in the little town of Greendale.

THAT LEFT ALL THE PARENTAL DUTIES to his grandfather, Atticus. The two were thick as thieves, and no one could separate them — until they moved to Greendale, and the truth of his parents come into the light.

SABRINA SPELLMAN WAS ONE OF THE only hybrid withes in the Church of Night. Being half-mortal and half-witch was something unheard of, and on her sixteenth birthday, she was destined to sign her name within the great Book of the Beast. Until she wasn't the only one.

THATCHER CALLOWAY DIDN'T LEARN about his ancestors until he moved to Greendale, and a man claiming to be the High Preist of the local coven showed up at the foot of the Calloway's door. It turns out, Thatcher's mother was the daughter of a High Priest out in Greendale before she disowned her coven of witches for none other than Jakob Calloway, a mortal.

SO THE ACADEMY OF UNSEEN ARTS was Thatcher's next stop, after signing his name in the Book of the Beast. And there was only one person who knows how he feels.
