In my dream it felt like I was floating. I was completely enveloped in a warm embrace that made my mind and body feel totally and utterly at peace. But every time I tried to see who that person was, I couldn't.
I was awoken by the dull sound of my phone alarm. My day is in a perfect routine, everyday the same as the last. Wake up, go to school, hangout with people you've known since kindergarten, go home, eat, do homework, sleep, repeat. As someone from a small town nothing really changes, same people, same school, same everything. A bland town full of copy and paste people, no one unique, no one different. Every once and awhile people move in and out but overall my small town stays quiet, unchanged, boring, and unbearable.
I sit for 5 minutes in my bed staring at the wall wishing I could sleep for another hour. Time keeps ticking and I can't seem to make it stop no matter how hard I try. I get up, take a shower, sitting in front of the mirror trying to myself somewhat presentable, but it's not like anyone cares, I'm just another face in a crowd. I walk downstairs to grab a quick granola bar before leaving. My mother had already left and there was a note on the table, and my lunch box labeled "Felix Lee". I skimmed the note lightly and tossed it into the recycling bin. Running out the door, I pass by the same photo every morning, not knowing the significance it would have on my day today.
Plugging in my earbuds and begin my gradual walk to school. Scrolling through my playlists, I decide on my full 3racha playlist. Broken compass starts playing, beats matching my steps. Lyrics and rhythmic rhymes matching my hopes for my day becoming better. Although there's a language barrier I seem to understand almost everything they want to say. just by how the music is arranged and their passion.
Almost 30 minutes later I finally arrive to my school. My school is a small school that's newly renovated. It only holds about 500 students total. Black, grey, and red detailing covers the school. In a modern design that almost looks too house-like to be an actual school. As I come closer I see crowds and crowds of people. People I've never seen before, adults, children, people from town, and colleagues. Anyone and everyone was crowding around my undersized school, in my minuscule town.
I decide to move closer, shifting and through the crowds. I can hear screaming, chanting, people are pushing and shoving in order to get closer. I hear people screaming "Chan please notice me!" "Chan oppa notice me" "Omg is he actually here" "Why is he in this small town?!" I'm confused, the only Chan I know is from 3racha, and what would a kpop idol being doing in a small town in Australia? He's from Sydney isn't he? My mind races, I start pushing frantically to see if it's actually the person who has helped me get through so much in my life. I see it, a tuft of bleached blonde hair sticks out from the crowd. I manage to squeeze to the front. I see him, the Bang Chan, Mr.CB97 himself. I don't know what to do, I'm shaking, I slowly lift my hands to my mouth in shock. Almost in slow motion, our eyes lock. His smile grows, and all of a sudden he's walking towards me. I just stay there, planted in a position of confusion and shock. In a matter of seconds I'm enveloped in a strong hug that holds the warmth of the sun and the comfort of a cloud. Chan whispers in my ear with a shaky breathe while still clutching me in a way like he's afraid to let go "Felix, I've missed you so much"
