Eddie hesitates before asking, "My mom has been scheduled for surgery on Monday. If you're not too busy-"
Iris quickly accepts, "I'd love to."
Eddie smiles, "It's just a minor procedure but, I think having you around could make her feel less nervous about the whole thing."
"I'll be there." Iris tells him as she flashes a big smile.
"Hey Eddie?" Iris's voice changes to a more serious tone. "Thanks for this."
Without letting him respond, Iris lifts herself on her tiptoes and wraps her hands around Eddie's waist in a tight hug. It takes Eddie by surprise. But before he knows it, he's hugging her back. He begins to burrow his chin in her soft curls. Breathing in her scent. Realizing just how much he misses this.
The two hold on to each other for longer than anticipated. As if daring the other to release their hold first. Finally, they simultaneously let go. Eddie turns and exits.
Iris watches his silhouette disappear into the rainy night.
WHEN YOU CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OVER, THAT'S WHEN YOU GET A LITTLE COLDER.

Barry tosses and turns in his bed. He had finally caved into Caitlin and Cisco nagging him about going home and getting some sleep.
Here he was, laying face up, staring at the ceiling. Waiting for sleep to come. Wishing he could close his eyes and not think about what the psychic meta had shown him the day before.
He replays Iris' words in his head, again and again:
"I don't think I can forgive him for that."
The mental image of her indifferent expression as she offered those words haunted him to the depths of his bones.
Barry knew Iris. He knew she usually never says things unless she really believes them to be true.
The last time they spoke, she had hit him for attempting to kiss her at the station. He had tried calling her to apologize but she refused to answer his calls or paragraphic texts.
Her silence worried Barry. He kept telling himself she would get over it and finally realize how much they love each other. He imagined the best possible scenario because, they are Barry and Iris after all.
When the week came to a close and he still had not heard from Iris, Barry decided to go and see her in person at Jitters. He had asked Caitlin to accompany him as a buffer.
When Iris saw them from a distance, she gave Caitlin a friendly smile but gave their order to another barista.
As Iris disappeared into the employee backroom, her eyes met Barrys for a split second. Barry could feel how much resentment she had for him in just that simple look.
