Moving is such a pain. I mean honestly whats the point of moving? Especially when all of my friends are far away. I was only moving with them because I didn’t have the funds to continue dancing without them. Im 19 and moving to a small town in Colorado.
I thinks its called Sparkling Falls or something like that.
“mom are we almost there?” I asked her from the front, she has assured me that they have an amazing dance studio there. That’s the only reason why I agreed in the first place. I had one of my earbuds out and she looked back at me with a tender look on her face.
“yes we are darling now relax. Youll really like the new house I promise” she said and I sighed softly its September and the classes start tomorrow so I was incredibly excited about this.
“alright..” I whispered my dad was an esteemed construction/architect and my mom is a writer, we apparently are getting an old large farm house. My dad wants new places to work on and apparently he was sent to sparkling falls where a lot of work needs to be done.
We saw a big sign saying ‘welcome to sparkling falls’ I relaxed as we drove through town it was a small town where they have everyone who knows everyone even by their cars. I saw people staring as the Uhaul made its way through the town careful not to hit anyone. I bit my lip as we drove through and I looked seeing stares with people whispering.
“hey…look theres the studio!” my mom said pointing to it, I peeked over seeing little girls walking out with their mothers.
“sweet” I whispered softly and soon we drove past the town and to a big farm house that looked a bit run down.
“perfect” my dad said pulling up and I grabbed my backpack putting my phone in it.
“it looks a bit run down..” I said slowly my dad looked back a little peeved.
“it has character..and I fixed the floors already so they are fresh and clean so no slivers or breaking..the rest will be done with time” he said gently making me roll my eyes. He was always up for a project so this would be perfect, my dad has dark brown hair like I do and I have my mom’s sparkling green eyes with a pale complexion.
“alright dad whatever you say…” I said slowly rubbing my arm as we got out. I already saw people working on the porch that looks brand new, wrap around too. I took my camera out taking a photo sighing softly.
I walked towards the house with my backpack while my dad put his arm around my shoulders. “think about it…a small town from a big busy city..its going to be relaxing and settled.” My dad said smiling making me nod a bit in return.
“sure dad..whatever..” I said shrugging a bit he looked at me with a shake of his head.
“alright go unpack your room is the second door on the left..” he said letting me go. I went to my room and set my bag on my bed shaking my head as I saw my things thrown around the room. I decided to start unpacking. I opened a box seeing my speaker dock and I put my phone on it hitting shuffle. I smiled as music played as I started unpacking, it’s a big room.
