They began.

Though Kit was pretty sure that Ty would find him annoying as heck, he was still grateful that Ty had agreed to train with him.

He picked up a seraph blade, muttering "Gabriel" under his breath. Kit watched as the blade began to shine with angelic power, the same power that flowed through his veins. Ty lifted a seraph blade too—because then it would only be fair if they both used the same weapon—with the skill and ease of practised use accumulated over years.

They faced each other, Ty muttering a "Michael" as they lifted their blades. There was a terrific clang of blade on blade, the very impact rattling Kit's bones, but Ty recovered quickly and drove his blade towards Kit's ribs.

Kit barely managed to dodge the attack when Ty kicked his legs from under him and held Kit at knifepoint, the tall shadow of Ty falling over him. The memories of the first time they met flooded back to Kit, who remembered the pale boy with the beautiful grey eyes.

Ty gave him one of his rare smiles. "Not even a minute, Watson. You need to step up your game."

"You were too fast-paced," said Kit, shooting Ty a scowl.

"Excuses, excuses." Ty clucked his tongue. "Want to go again?"

"No. Teach me how to fight first." Kit stood up, brushing off imaginary dust from his shirt.

"Okay," Ty said, tossing his own seraph blade aside and holding out his hand to Kit, motioning for him to pass Ty his blade. Kit gave it, passing it into Ty's slender fingers. He watched as Ty closed his hand around the hilt of the blade and held it expertly. "Hold your blade at this angle." He bent his legs. "Adopt this stance."

And Kit never wanted the lesson to stop, for every time he couldn't get a position right Ty would press himself into Kit, helping him right his blade and bend his legs and every single part that Ty touched Kit felt sparks shoot through it, and he melted into Ty's touch.

Finally, Ty seemed to get that Kit really wasn't paying much attention, and he challenged Kit to another duel. Kit, taken aback by the suddenness, was caught unprepared but he had not much choice but to accept the challenge.

Ty passed Kit's blade back to him, grabbing the blade he had thrown aside earlier.

They illuminated their blades once again, with the names of the angels whose blood they had. Kit held his blade warily in front of him, taking the stance Ty had so carefully guided him to adopt.

Unexpectedly, Ty lunged at him, blade outstretched, but Kit knew how to dodge it, and he came right up behind Ty, preparing to put his blade by Ty's neck—even though he would never dream of plunging the blade down. The very idea of someone hurting Ty pained him, even more so if it was him who had hurt Ty. The pain would be unbearable, even more than Ty's pain.

But Ty was prepared for that. He ducked right out Kit's arms, tackling Kit and pinning him to the floor, the two boys rolling around as they battled with their blades. Then came a moment when Kit's seraph blade flew out of his hand, sliding across the floor and Kit looked up to see Ty grinning down at him, Ty's blade at his neck again.

Abruptly the both of them realised what an awkward position they were caught in. Abruptly Kit didn't really know what he was doing. Abruptly Ty's blade fell onto the floor beside Kit, and Ty reached down to brush Kit's dishevelled, soaked-in-sweat hair out of his eyes.

"Ty," Kit whispered. He knew Ty hated unexpected things. He knew Ty couldn't stand not knowing what was going to happen next. So, he swallowed and continued. "I'm going to kiss you. Is that alright?"

He saw Ty's gorgeous eyelashes flutter shut; he saw Ty gulp; he saw Ty nod, ever so slightly.

But it was enough.

He reached up with desperation and took Ty's face in his hands, feeling the pebble-like smoothness before Ty's mouth came over his.

The gentleness took him by surprise, as did the feeling of Ty's soft mouth on his. He leaned up into Ty, but Ty pushed him down, and he felt Ty smile against his mouth. Kit wrapped his hands around Ty's neck, holding him to Kit. But really, he didn't need to, because Ty had clung to Kit with the same desire, all forms of gentleness and softness gone.

It had morphed into flames of desire that licked and burned Kit's insides to ash. His heart beat fast and steady against Ty's chest, their fingers tangled in each other's hair. For what he had assumed to be Ty's first kiss, Ty was a kissing prodigy through and through. He was drowning in the sensation, the pure sensation of being in Ty's arms.

Then the door slammed open, and Magnus burst in.

Quickly they stumbled out of each other's arms, standing up hurriedly and smoothing down their rumpled clothes. Kit took one glance at Ty, and instantly hated Magnus. Ty's cheeks were flushed pink, his hair tousled and his grey eyes dark with desire. To Kit, Ty had never looked this cute before.

Magnus raised a delicate eyebrow. "Apparently Jace was right; I do burst into intimate moments quite so often."

"What do you want?" Kit snapped, hugely annoyed. He felt Ty's arm come to gently rest on his own, and he felt rather sorry almost immediately. It really wasn't Magnus' fault. "I'm sorry. How may we be of any assistance?"

He thought he heard Magnus mutter "Herondales" under his breath, but he ignored it. "You're wanted in the Accords Hall. Both of you, getting into Shadow Market business isn't healthy for a reputation. Barnabas Hale accuses you both of violation of the Accords. Drusilla is there already, now hurry along. You can continue your unfinished business after your trial."

Kit went still. Trial? He would be fine with that, but Ty? Kit looked worriedly at Ty, but Ty seemed unmoved. "Open the Portal, then," Ty said to Magnus.

The whirlwind opened up before them, and Magnus gestured for them to enter. Suddenly, Ty grabbed Kit's hand and gave it an encouraging squeeze. Kit snuck a look at Ty, and though it still remained expressionless, Kit felt his heart leap.

Together, they stepped in.
