I was lost in his eyes for what seemed like eternity. The pools of joyful playfulness and merciless malice. Swaying back and forth in my mind on where those eyes could take me.
The corner of his lips twitched in amusement as he asked,"Are you lost, little one?"
The honey velvet voice jolted me from my catatonic state as I meekly replied "No." The unsureness of my own voice betrayed me, and I broke my connection to the orbs of obedience I was so enraptured with. That was all it took to snap me back to reality and realize,
I was on a fucking train, crowded full of irrelevance and mortality, and of course, the man with the soul snatching eyes, like a fleeting thought, was gone.
Stumbling off the train, mind boggled with wonderment at the identity of the soul snatcher I locked eyes with on the train car, I briskly walked to my apartment, intent on plopping on my sofa to unwind from the days bullshit. I was halted abruptly by something solid.
I look up, and it's the soul snatcher, standing there in glory that only a god can exude.
"Umm, excuse you sir, you're in the way.""Oh, am I? I do apologize, but I don't think you were paying attention to where you were going, little one."
"First off, I have a name. Secondly, there's plenty of sidewalk for the both of us and then some. Thirdly, move! I'd like to get home now."
He smiled coyly, licked his lips and assessed me slowly, analyzing me
"Fiesty, with an ego bigger than you'll ever be, and a death glare to match, interesting..."
He laughed raucously.
"You're going to be a fun, little one""Wha-"
Before I could get the syllable out, he rushed me, I sidestepped him, making sure to snap kick his knee, hard.
I made a mad dash for it, and before I could even get momentum, he had snatched me in his arms.
"Struggle less, and this will go smoothly little one"
"Monster! Put me down, NOW!" I yelled with every ounce of authority I could muster.
"You'll thank me for this one day"
And in one fluid motion, he snapped my neck, and I felt my soul leave its shell...
And I was Death.
