Zeus lived on a deserted island where he comfortably controlled the sky and its weather. Poseidon, on the other hand, lived in a chaotic island. As the God of the Ocean, He enjoyed playing with ocean waves and creating tsunamis and floods. Demeter had the smallest island but took advantage of Her land, spending Her free time harvesting new crops to feed the land animals who lived around Her. Athena, the last Goddess in the universe, the God of Wisdom, was the only one aware that there were more Gods ruling their islands.
Suddenly, Athena had an idea. If each God had an island and a different power, then They could all meet, merge the land, and work together to rule something bigger. Everything sounded ideal. Athena decided to travel and talk to Zeus, Poseidon, and Demeter. Zeus was quickly convinced, as he thought living with Demeter would give him a greater purpose. He could control the weather and help the crops grow. Demeter was also excited when Athena proposed the new plan since She would have more land to harvest any new crops. But, Poseidon was hesitant at first, yet was finally convinced because it would sometimes be a little boring in His island and by the merger would add more excitement.
They all agreed and made the quick transition. Soon, the 4 Gods were living together on a huge island. At first, everything seemed okay. Poseidon got distracted with the crops and tried to calculate the ocean current needed in order for the plants. Demeter was busy planting crops and making sure She was able to take care of them. Zeus discovered that with bigger pieces of land, different weather conditions could all happen at the same time in different locations. After very radical climate and temperature changes Zeus was conducting, the ocean's level began to rise and Poseidon could do nothing to stop it. As an effect, and before She knew it, all of Demeter's crops were flooded. She now had less crops than what she did before the merge.
Athena, analyzing everything from above could not reason what was happening. She quickly called everyone up for a meeting.
"Do you see the chaos you created?" She pointed at Poseidon. "Your decision to play around with the weather initiated everything. It is Your responsibility to make things right."
"No!" explained Poseidon. "If it wasn't for Zeus' inability to control 'His ocean', the problem could have been avoided."
"Why are you getting me involved, it was Demeter's ambition to take over the entire land that made this a problem. If there were no crops to flood, no one would have been mad at us."
"I was just doing my job!" argued Demeter. "This was the only reason I agreed to our merge in the first place. We should have never met each other, it's Athena's fault."
After hearing all of their arguments Athena knew it was in fact her fault. To fix this, she came up with the idea of reversing the effect and unmerge everybody to what it was before. To do this, Athena, knowing everything, suggested to create a big explosion so the land could part. All the Gods went to their parts of the island and on a count of three, produce the biggest power they could. Athena had missed one piece of information, she didn't calculate how big the explosion would be, and just as they were counting down, she realized what would happen. Before being able to stop this giant mess, it was too late. The last thing they all heard was "BOOM!".
