I stared at my numb hands there shaking.

My eyes focused on my reflection in the mirror seeing my brown face losing its complexion. I hurried to grab my rubber band and wrapped it around my forearm. Taking my insulin needle, I found my vein and inserted the syringe into my arm.

The shaking in my hands calmed down and the numbness simmered away. I sighed with relief, but I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep.

The spike in my blood sugar was caused by me stressing heavily on how my day was. I kept thinking and trying to put pieces together, only to save myself from insanity. It only made my body go in shock.

I'm okay, I'm fine. Those are the words I kept telling myself. I looked over at the clock and it was past 3 in the morning.

My cousin should be awake since Texas is an hour behind I believe. He's probably just up studying or working on animations.

"Sugar! It's been a minute. What's good?" He questioned as I went to get back in bed.

"I'm sorry. I've been really busy lately. How is it down in Texas?"

He sat up in the camera, "It's good so far. Been on that grind, nam'sayin'?."

"Mhm, I can tell. Been looking at your videos on YouTube and they are funny as hell." I giggled.

"What can I say? I got that magic touch."

"Whatever, Don. I just wanted to check up on you and I might be coming down to Texas in a few weeks."

"Really? I'll make sure I'll clean up the joint before you arrive."

I place a hand over my chest, "Aww, how sweet. Thank you."

"Save that sweet act for somebody else. Bye."

He ended the call which caused me to laugh and text him. I put my phone on airplane mode, then turned my television on to watch a show. I picked a Korean show called Strong Woman Bong Soon.

I raised an eyebrow as I pressed 'OK'.

So I stayed up till 3 in the afternoon and fully finished the entire show. My lips were agape majority of the show and let me tell you, I am utterly fascinated. It changed my taste, or to make things easier, my preference.

I haven't really had a good laugh in a while and that show set it off for me. I'm glad I got to watch it. It didn't even make me tired-- if anything it gave me energy.

Getting out from under the covers, I made up my bed and went towards my living room.

"Hey Alexa, play my vibe playlist on Spotify."

Playing 'vibe' playlist on Spotify.

I decided to clean up my apartment. I folded my blankets that were spread over my couch and organized the throw-on pillows. I got my vacuum out and went over my cream carpet.

I would sway around the apartment or bounce while singing my songs out loud. My glove covered hands wiped down glass, mirrors, windows, and counters. I felt like this was my therapy session after my episode.

If you want a therapy session, go to that jazz concert tonight.

I bit my bottom lip as I took off my yellow gloves and washed my hands. Walking over to the kitchen, I took out the leftover buttermilk chicken and decided to make a chef salad with it. I mixed my ingredients in a large bowl and drizzled some shredded cheese on top.
