As I walked home, all I could think about was what happened with Nerris. But, I mean, how could I not? I barely even knew what to make of it, all I knew was that Nerris looked adorable and, for some odd reason, she didn't even seem to care about what happened when she woke up, I mean, she was probably still tired but still!
I tried to think of something else, looking around quickly as I tried to find something to distract me as I walked. Soon, I looked up, noticing the dark storm clouds that had began to form above me.
'Oh hell no.' I thought as I looked forward and began running, hoping to get to my house quickly before I got soaked. As I ran, I felt a few raindrops begin to fall. I was pretty close to my house at that point, so I decided to speed up more, even though I knew my legs would hate me for it later.
Once I saw my house up ahead, I slowed down a bit, which was a bad idea because once I did, the rain got harder. Luckily, I made it to my door without being completely soaked, but still fairly wet.
I walked into the house, expecting my parents to be there. As I took my shoes off and walked into the living room, I realized they weren't.
'Hm. Must've went out. Again..' I think to myself as I sit down on the couch, pulling my phone out of my pocket. I had gotten a few texts from Preston, but I never answered so he spammed me, naturally.
'Damn, calm down man, I wasn't on my phone much.' I replied, not bothering to read through all of the texts he had sent me.
He replied almost immediately.
'Ah, too busy with your gf to talk to your best friend I see :c ;)' I rolled my eyes as I read that.
'Tf you mean my 'gf' -.- and I'd take talking to you over anything, seeing as you're basically the only friend I have that actually likes me.' I put my phone down next to me, grabbing the remote from the arm of the couch.
There wasn't really anything to watch, but I turned something random on because it got too quiet.
Bzzt bzzt.
I grabbed my phone after it buzzed, knowing that it was Preston.
'Oh don't talk like that. There's plenty of other people that like you. Speaking of which, how did it go with Nerris? ;)' Of course, he asked about it.
'First, I doubt that. Second, it went fine..' There was no way I was telling Preston that Nerris had fallen asleep on me. He'd freak out completely. It's best to keep that one to myself.
I set my phone down on my lap and looked around the living room. I sighed as my eyes landed on the shelf on the wall, with my brothers picture on it. I immediately felt a wave of guilt come over me, I was used to feeling that way, but it still sucked.
'Why did I decide to have my little brother do tricks with a horrible magician like me?' I thought, feeling tears start to well up in my eyes.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again and looking away from the photo of my brother. My phone buzzed once more.
I checked the message I got. '"Fine" isn't the answer I wanted, but a good answer nonetheless. Anywho, I'm off to bed now. Need beauty rest. Talk to you tomorrowww.'
'K. Night.' I replied, locking my phone after.
I looked around the room again for a moment. 'Maybe I should head to bed. Not much to do anyway.' I thought to myself as I grabbed the remote and turned the tv off.
I got up and headed toward the stairs, going up into my room.
I set my phone on my nightstand, plugging it up as I fell onto my bed. I pulled the covers over me and hoped to fall asleep.
