I along with my sister Sora parked our bike , got off it and started walking towards the school gate of this new school in which we were going to start our new school life. I could feel everyone gazing at us with surprise. Of course it was a surprise for them as we were not of this country but foreign students its a normal human reaction.
We entered the school gate and parted our ways I being a grade 10 student went towards my class which was very close to the left side of the school gate , while Sora's was in grade 9 and her classroom was further than mine. We wished each other good luck and parted our ways.
As I entered my class again the same thing happened everybody started gazing at me. I felt uncomfortable but mustered some confidence and broke the quiet which was created after I entered the class and asked " excuse me, can u please tell me where is my seat". Well in Japan we allotted us our seat but this was India of course it wouldn't be same. The boy standing in front of me replied "sit anywhere its empty , its totally up to you". I started looking around the class . We had benches for 2 instead of individual chair .Since I was new and knew no one I looked for an individual bench . I found one right at the end of the class. I walked towards the bench , placed my bag and sat there.
I could feel everybody talking about me. After 10 minutes the bell rang. Everybody formed a line in a very undisciplined manner and started departing for the school auditorium where the morning prayer and important announcements were going to be made. I along with my class departed for the auditorium. The morning prayer was in Sanskrit , the language is out of my league. Some important announcement like the welcoming the new students in grade 1 and newly recruited teachers, motivational speech bla bla bla. After this we were sent back to our class I could see most of the gazes towards me including the teachers too.
