A/N Hi!!! I see that you've made it through another chapter. Anyways I am so sorry for all of the POV jumping and times skips. I did that in order to establish the characters. I am going to be a lot more consistent. Only changing the POV maybe once in a chapter? Or every other? Idk I haven't quite decided yet. Hope you enjoy!

Twyla's POV

I walked into the school. It was going to be a very long day. What with getting back into the routine and seeing people that I hadn't seen in what felt like forever.

I went into the office and grabbed my schedule. I had mostly honors and college classes. Although Calculus was gonna be interesting since math wasn't exactly my strong suit. Music, however, was my strong suit. Hence why I always looked forward to band, orchestra, and choir.

I was half tempted to ask Brett about his schedule but I hadn't seen him yet. I decided to go and organize my locker. I had a of locker shelf. I slid the straps off and let my bag fall to the floor. I unzipped it and pulled out my binder and of course the locker shelf I ripped off the plastic and threw it in the garbage can that was nearby.

I folded them open and placed it in my locker.  I always did this to organize my locker in order to keep my textbooks and my binder separate.  I always put my text books in order of my classes throughout the day. That way it was easy to just grab and go.

My next step of locker organization was to put my pencil bag, water bottle, and my book on the top shelf. Again, so it was easy to just grab and go. I grabbed my water bottle out of the side pocket of my bag and stretched in order to reach the top shelf. Yes. I know that I'm short. Don't remind me.

I did the same thing with my pencil bag and my book. I was rereading Harry Potter for the gajillionth time. Yes. I know that I am a complete and utter dork. I carry books with me wherever I go. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and turned off Do Not Disturb.

I grabbed my binder, pencil bag, water bottle, and book. After that I walked to my first class of the day. Which was Calculus. I mentally groaned. At least I knew that the teacher liked me. She only liked me because I always went the extra mile and came in early or stayed late when I needed help.

I walked into her room. The strong scent of lavender filling my nose. She had a wax melt thing. I set my stuff on a desk towards the front. I had to be able to see in order to take good notes. If I didn't understand it I could at least make it look like I did.

After I set my stuff down I went to the bathroom. I went to the main bathroom that was closest to the office. But when I opened the door it was full. I mean every stall was occupied, people were crowded by the sink. I sighed and turned around. I went to the next closest bathroom which was in the science wing. But once again it was full.

Internally I said screw it and went to the girls locker room. I ended up walking faster than I intended. I really had to pee. I should've gone to the bathroom before I left the house.

I felt relieved when I got to the girls locker room. The bell rang just as I was finishing up washing my hands. I carefully dried them and threw away the paper towel. I made a mental note to bring lotion and hand sanitizer tomorrow.

I walked to into my class and sat down. Once I sat down the second bell rang. Soon the third bell rang. So many people were tardy on the first day. I looked down at my desk to find a couple of papers on my desk. I read the brief directions and began to fill them out.

Once I was finished I carefully stood up and walked to the teachers desk. I set them on her desk, she handed me a syllabus and then I went back to my seat. I pulled out my book once I got back to my desk and began to read.

I grabbed my water bottle and carefully and quietly unscrewed the cap. I drank some water and then put the cap back on. I set my water bottle on the edge of my desk.

Soon everyone was done filling out the papers that we had. We went through the syllabus shortly after that. It mostly consisted of rules and expectations as well as the grading scale and how things like tests and quizzes were weighted.

The typical first day thing. In nearly every class. Ugh today is going to be long.

The bell rang after what seemed like forever. I picked up my stuff and headed to my next class. Which was Advanced Biology. Good thing both classes were in the same hall.

I checked my phone on my way to Advanced Bio. I got a text from Brett.

B- I'm running late. Car troubles.
T- Oh no! I hope you get here soon. Second hour is about to start.

I walked into the high school science room and took a seat relatively in the middle. More towards the front. Same reason. To get good notes. But school isn't the only thing I care about.

I care about plenty of other things. Like my family and friends. Yeah I know. I've heard them before. Things like goody two shoes and teachers pet.

I've felt like a part of me is missing so I focus on my school work in order to distract myself from that feeling. It doesn't go away though. Most days are okay but others are absolutely horrible. I try to be optimistic but it's hard ya know?

I took a deep breath and turned my attention to the front. I pulled out my planner and wrote down the assignments that were written on the white board. They were section notes. Textbooks were passed out. After our textbook numbers were written down we had the rest of the period to do whatever.

And then the bell rang. He is still not here.
